WWE Extreme Rules 2011: 5 Bold Predictions for Tonight's Event

0 of 5

Tonight, WWE Extreme Rules is live from the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Fla.

The two major titles will be on the line and two careers will be on the line as well.

Coming out of WrestleMania, The Miz is still the WWE Champion, but he will be facing one of his toughest challenges yet, a triple-threat cage match with John Cena and John Morrison.

WWE legend and future Hall of Fame member Edge had to suddenly retire due to his neck injuries and was forced to relinquish his World Heavyweight Championship.

Tonight, newcomer Alberto Del Rio looks to win his first World Heavyweight Championship, while Edge's longtime friend Christian looks to win his first major title as well.

There are six matches on tonights card.

Let's look at some possibilities and scenarios that could play out tonight, with five bold predictions I have decided on.

    Enjoy the show!

1. Michelle McCool Leaves the WWE

1 of 5

There seems to be some news spreading that the injured/part-time WWE legend The Undertaker would like to spend some time with his new wife.

It is possible Michelle McCool has asked for a leave of absence and it could have been granted.

Which makes sense since that a loser leaves WWE match was created between her and former Lay-Cool partner Layla.

2. Rey Mysterio Destroys Cody Rhodes

2 of 5

While Cody Rhodes may have gotten the victory at WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta, it might not be the case as Extreme Rules.

There has been several times in the past we have seen Rey Mysterio get his revenge and the last laugh, and unless this feud is going to continue any longer, I would have to put my money on Mysterio getting the job done tonight.

3. Randy Orton Turns the GTS into an RKO

3 of 5

Randy Orton and CM Punk will be competing in a Last Man Standing match.

Both of the wrestlers finishing moves could spell the end for either opponent.

We've seen the RKO come out of nowhere several times.

Tonight, I don't see that being any different.  It would be really nice to see WWE's Apex Predator slip out of CM Punk's GTS as Punk fails to answer to the 10-count.

4. Michael Cole Is Finally Shut Up

4 of 5

I am sure we are all sick of Michael Cole...I know I am.

"Come on Jackie, come on Swagger!"

Does anyone get tired of hearing him yell that?

I would love for Jerry Lawler or Jim Ross to get the job done tonight, and more importantly, end this stupid storyline.

5. The Rock Makes an Appearance to Close out the Show

5 of 5

The Rock is going to be hosting Monday Night Raw the night after WWE Extreme Rules in Miami, Fla.

It shouldn't be ruled out that he could be interfering in John Cena's WWE Championship match tonight against current Champion The Miz and John Morrison.

I would expect this to happen, but only after the match is complete.  I expect the WWE Championship to go back to CeNation tonight, unfortunately.

However, a post-match Rock Bottom would be quite nice.  Is it necessary since he just did this at WrestleMania?  No, probably not.  Do I care about that?  Not one bit.  I could watch him do that to Cena all day.
