We are already heading into the second weekend of fantasy football in October, and with it come the great change in the leaves, the mildness to the air, and most importantly, more hard core Bruno Boys Fantasy Football content.
By now, there is definitely some separation from the "who are" and the "who aren't" in your leagues. The good news is that if you are doing poorly, you have not been mathematically eliminated yet. And the bad news is that if you are 5-0, this is no time to get cozy. Plenty of things can happen and injuries can fall upon everyone's teams.
Whichever position you find yourself in, you can rest assured knowing that the Bruno Boys are here 24/7/365 for your hardcore fantasy football needs!
This week we will be without the running backs for the Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
With that being said let’s hope for a remarkable week six for yourself, as well as the rest of Bruno Boys Nation. To make that happen, read through the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Week Six Running Back Rankings. And remember, these rankings are based on 12 team leagues that start two RBs.
Key Abbreviations: YPC (Yards Per Carry), YPG (Yards Per Game)
1. Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings) vs. Detroit
As if things couldn't get any worse for my deflated Detroit Lions, they now have the task of stopping one of the most electric RBs in the game in Adrian Peterson. As we have warned in the past, you usually either get really good results or really bad results.
Last week we saw pretty ugly, but things should change in week six. Peterson should throw up a good 120 yards and two TDs to further bring the Detroit Lions season to a close quicker than they had hoped. He is a must-start in all fantasy football league formats.
Point Projection: 24 points
2. Clinton Portis (Washington Redskins) vs. St. Louis
After a monster week five performance, in which Clinton Portis went for a combined 158 yards and one TD against the very tough Philadelphia Eagles rush defense, can you just imagine what will happen when he takes on the lowly St. Louis Rams rush defense? This should be a pretty outstanding week for all that employ Clinton Portis for week six. He is a must-start in all fantasy football league formats.
Point Projection: 23 points
3. Reggie Bush (New Orleans Saints) vs. Oakland
After an electrifying week five Monday night performance against the Minnesota Vikings in which he returned a pair of punt returns for TDs, he looks to face the Oakland Raiders' rush defense, which has more holes than Swiss cheese.
Look for an outstanding performance and one that should add greatly to his 533 total combined yards and three TDs. He is a must-start in all fantasy football league formats.
Point Projection: 21 points
4. LaDainian Tomlinson (San Diego Chargers) vs. New England
LaDainian Tomlinson was another top RB that just bombed last week, struggling mightily against the Miami Dolphins. We see that changing a lot this week against what has turned into a rather average rush defense of the New England Patriots. The Patriots have allowed 4.9 YPC and 124.8 YPG this season.
Expect Tomlinson to bounce back, as he should be good for a pair of TDs and 80 yards, and he is such a great talent that he is a must start in all fantasy football formats, even through his early struggles.
Point Projection: 20 points
5. Brian Westbrook (Philadelphia Eagles) at San Francisco
What possibly could the doctor order to make Brian Westbrook and his bum ankle plus two broken ribs feel better? Bring on the San Francisco 49ers. Amazingly, he has not been ruled out of Sunday's contest. If he does play, expect big things, as the 49ers have given up 128.4 YPG and six rushing TDs in the 2008 season. When/if he is healthy enough to play, plug Westbrook into your lineup with confidence.
Point Projection: 18 points
6. Steven Jackson (St. Louis Rams) at Washington
Heading into last week's bye week for the St. Louis Rams, Steven Jackson was looking a lot like his old self, going for 188 total combined yards and a TD. In the previous week he went for a total of 128 yards.
With the Rams in desperation mode, and a new head coach at the helm, look for Jackson's numbers to once again resemble those of a top RB, making him a must-start for week six.
