WWE Elimination Chamber Predictions: Who Will Go on to Wrestlemania Main Event?

Jeff LangridgeCorrespondent IIIFebruary 17, 2011

Wow, how has WWE booked this event with only four matches. It seems that WWE is so focused on Wrestlemania that they have forgotten they have a pay-per-view this Sunday.

With only four matches booked, as of right now, and no matches added on Smackdown, it appears that WWE will give us a couple of "bonus" matches. What those matches will be is anyone's guess, because I see only one match that most likely will be added, and I'm not looking forward to it.

From what we have been seeing from the divas as of late, I wouldn't be shocked to see a six-diva tag team match pitting Melina and the Bella's against Natalya, Gail Kim, and the Diva's Champion, Eve. Something still seems wrong with her holding the belt. Well, at least it's not one of the Bella's. Alright, enough with the rant, back to the predictions.

Aside from the Diva's Match, the only matches that I might see added are Daniel Bryan defending the United States Championship against Alex Riley and, probably more likely, Big Show vs. Ezekiel Jackson.

Let's get to the predictions of the four matches that have been announced.

Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Alberto Del Rio

Here we have a champion in a match in that he is not defending his championship. I don't even get how this feud happened. First, Del Rio cost Kofi a spot in the Elimination Chamber match for no reason, then Kofi stopped Del Rio from attacking Hornswoggle. Del Rio then attacked Kofi with a kendo stick, prompting Kofi to retaliate with the same weapon on Valentine's day.

Seriously, what are these guys feuding over? Simply, this match is only happening to put Del Rio over on pay-per-view before Wrestlemania.

MY PICK: Alberto Del Rio

The Miz(c) vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler

I have heard too many people complain that Lawler is getting this opportunity. Quite simply, Lawler is one of the best there has ever been, and he has never gotten a chance like this. I for one, think he deserves this shot. I'm not saying he'll win though.

In their previous encounters, Lawler has made Miz look better than he is. I'm not saying that Miz is a bad wrestler, he is just one of those guys who looks better when he has better opponent. This is exactly what Miz needs going into Wrestlemania. Hopefully, Vince McMahon will let the Miz go over clean without any interference from Riley or Micheal Cole. Miz needs to look as strong as possible so he can lose to Cena at Wrestlemania.

MY PICK: The Miz

Winner faces WWE Champion at Wrestlemania

John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. CM Punk vs. King Sheamus vs. John Morrison vs. R-Truth

I wonder who is winning this match. WWE has only been giving us clues for about month now. Why don't they just give Cena the number one contender's status.

There are four sure things that will happen in this match. First, Cena will win, second, R-Truth will be eliminated first. Third, John Morrison will do something acrobatic from the top of the chamber and fourth, CM Punk will eliminate Randy Orton.

MY PICK: John Cena

Edge(c) vs. Kane vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Wade Barrett vs. ???

This Friday night on Smackdown, Vickie Guerrero gives the title to Dolph Ziggler, and just when Vickie Guerrero is about to show the "proof" that Edge attacked Teddy Long, what happens? Teddy Long returns and immediately books a match pitting the World Champion Ziggler against Edge. Edge goes on to win that match to become the "new" World Heavyweight Champion.

After the match, Long fires Ziggler, which takes him out of the Chamber match. He might find his way back into the match, but I'm not sure. If he doesn't, it should start an interesting debate on who will replace him.

Seeing that the plans are to have Del Rio face Edge for the World Title at Wrestlemania, I guess we know who is winning here.
