Vince McMahon is a genius. A marketing mastermind who can get the world talking about his product.
Just think for a second. Every article you read is a comprehensive breakdown of The Rock's return and incredible throwback promo that was so on point even the censor guy gave up trying to keep up. And if you're not seeing an article about that, you're reading about the oh-so-mysterious 2.21.11 promo that is going to be a return of the Undertaker and possibly someone else.
As card-carrying members of the IWC, we missed a bone that Vince tossed to us.
Before Rocky blew the roof off of the place, there was a set of ankles that were assumed to be the guest host of Wrestlemania.
How soon we all forget.
Could this possibly be the culmination of the anonymous general manager angle? Quite possibly. But with all the spectacular PG-13 promo Rocky put out, we let this tidbit slip past us. I'm sure they wouldn't give us a close-up of female ankles and have no thoughts of following up.
Also there's the fact that Michael Tarver was seen many times in the backstage area in the past few weeks. A tell-tale sign that something may be going on with his character is the revelation that Husky Harris was sent back to developmental after Orton punted him into oblivion, but Tarver is still on the main roster. Just what are you brewing WWE?
What's the biggest thing we've overlooked?
Then there's the very popular 2.21.11 video. Is there one person in the video? Two? Is it Taker or HBK's chin that's shown on the latest video? Is Sting finally going to join WWE? Is it Tyler Black? Awesome Kong? Triple H? Why are there two different sets of boots?
The answer to these questions are simple. WWE doesn't even know yet. However, they have set themselves up to go in many different directions.
As reported by various websites, WWE may be in contract negotiations with Sting. Simply put, if Sting signs on the dotted line, then all of a sudden everybody is right and there were two people in the video.
Now let's say he doesn't sign. WWE could pull the Triple H card or just make it seem like it was only Taker the entire time. There are so many different scenarios that could come out of this.
However, with all of that said, 2.21.11 is the official beginning of the road to Wrestlemania. The episode of Raw that sets the feuds straight and sets us on a six-week trip to the granddaddy of them all.
Now think about what truly has to happen. Triple H has to return either at Elimination Chamber or on Raw. The Undertaker has to return and get set to defend his streak. And a womanly set of ankles has to receive a body.
So, simply put, I think it's safe to say that on 2.21.11, all of our questions will be answered, which makes that date must-see TV.
