What a memorable RAW, Bleachers. It had to be one of the best and, not to mention, an extremely nostalgic episode of RAW that WWE provided us within the last few years. We were provided with some excellent wrestling matches, such as Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz, John Cena vs. CM Punk, and of course, the Rock returning to close off the show opened up so many memories.
It was an unbelievable episode of RAW, and although the Elimination Chamber buildup could have been better, they can always save it for this week's SmackDown! Anywho, as I've mentioned, it was a very memorable episode of RAW. I have to say that it was one of the best 2.5 hours I've ever spent watching the WWE. Glad to have you back, Rocky!
Although, as you can probably tell by the title, reviewing this past RAW episode isn't my purpose in writing this article. My topic for this article is this: The chance of The Rock taking on John Cena at Wrestlemania XXVII.
Now, I'm well aware of the fact that Rock has stated in dozens of interviews that he has no intention to ever wrestle again. And with good reason. The Great One has won a Royal Rumble, won countless championships and beaten the best the business has ever seen. Basically, to sum it up, whatever the business had to offer, he achieved it in gracious manners.
But one can't help wonder after the extremely gratifying promo that the Rock gave to close off RAW, that maybe Rock vs. Cena might just have a chance after all. It just intrigued me to a point that I wanted to share my feeling about it in an article.
Would you pay $65 to see The Rock vs. John Cena at Wrestlemania XXVII?
The Rock might have just went out and cut a promo without a script; however, I'm sure there was something that McMahon told him not to do. Why would he exactly dedicate approximately a quarter of his promo ranting about John Cena? He even convinced most of the people to boo for John Cena, and we all know Vince hates when that happens.
That's the exact reason why we haven't seen Undertaker vs. John Cena all these years at WrestleMania. And I know that Rock said that he will see John Cena at WrestleMania (which got me excited by the way), likewise the Miz and the WWE Universe. But again, one can't help but wonder.
And really, what is Rock going to do at WrestleMania. JUST host? Possibly, but it could be a strong possibility that he might do something other than host as well.
Rock vs. John Cena is what the IWC, as well as the older fans, have been clamouring for at WrestleMania. Besides Cena vs. Taker or Taker vs. Sting, it has to be one of the most popular dream matches out there. If WWE is indeed planning Cena vs. Rock, it'll give guys like Morrison and CM Punk a chance to possibly main-event WrestleMania.
Cena vs. Rock has a million buy rates written all over it, and we all know that Vince will need those after the horrible fourth-quarter earnings that came out. I think it's a safe bet that we'll be seeing Rocky on RAW more often, at least until WrestleMania. It's a given that WWE can easily have the right amount of buildup between Cena and Rock if they indeed want it to happen.
So, Rocky, might as well completely end your career with a bang. That bang just might be John Cena. Wishful thinking on my part? Possibly? But I'm not letting go of my hope until that entire WrestleMania card is announces.
