These rankings are reflective of how this writer believes NFL players will perform, from a fantasy (ESPN) standard scoring perspective, in their current situations and Week Three Matchups.

  1. Jason Witten, DAL (@ GB). Failed to score so far this year, but number one until further notice.
  2. Tony Scheffler, DEN(vs NO). As long as Scheffler remains a part of Jay Cutler's passing performances against teams that give up 300 (or 299 plus) passing yards to Denver, he will remain prominent in the ranks.
  3. Antonio Gates, SD(vs NYJ). Gates has talent. Monday, he will remind those who forgot.
  4. Tony Gonzalez, KC(@ ATL). Gonzalez has talent, too. But he'll remind the doubters on Sunday.
  5. John Carlson, SEA(vs STL). Matt Hasselbeck's most consistently present target thus far.
  6. Kellen Winslow, CLE(@ BAL).
  7. Jeremy Shockey, NO (@ DEN).
  8. Owen Daniels, HOU (@ TEN).
  9. Chris Cooley, WAS (vs ARI).
  10. Heath Millier, PIT (@ PHI).
  11. Vernon Davis, SF(vs DET).
  12. Robert Royal, BUF (vs OAK).
  13. Randy McMichael, STL (@ SEA).
  14. LJ Smith, PHI (vs PIT).
  15. Anthony Fasano, MIA (@ NE).
  16. Visanthe Shiancoe, MIN (vs CAR).
