WWE Valentine's Day Coverage: Pro Wrestling's Most Impressive Dating Resumes

Professional wrestling's working conditions, by nature, make for an incestuous environment.  Such close proximity and incessant group travel breeds insanity, infighting, and inbreeding. 

So it's only inevitable that pro wrestlers form real-life relationships (and sometimes engage in affairs) with one another as they tend to see more of each other than their own families. 

The scandalous history of professional wrestling has given way to a host of notable relationships, marriages, divorces, infidelities, and flings. 

As a matter of fact, many backstage dramas pertaining to romantic relationships are often more fascinating than that of the on-screen angles carefully constructed for entertainment purposes. 

So much so, in fact, that a considerable handful of on-screen lover's quarrels stem from real-life events to better captivate the wrestling audience by adding a level of reality to supplement the intrigue. 

A select handful of pro wrestling stars have gained more notoriety than others in the field of dating their co-workers. 

This particular list depicts 15 of the more notorious serial daters throughout the star-crossed history of pro wrestling.

15. Ric Flair

This list starts with more of an ode than a speculative account of a given superstar's sexual and romantic endeavors. 

Unlike the remaining pro wrestling personalities on this list, I have no specific examples linking Flair to a particular pro wrestler or impressive female counterpart. 

But he's Ric Flair. 

As much stylin', profilin', naitchin', and (for lack of an uninvented one-word phrase) paying for divorces as  Flair has done, Flair's bawdy career journey and affinity for the nightlife had to have included some impressive hook-ups despite their current ambiguity.   

14. Karen Jarrett

When your last two last names match that of a famous pro wrestler, you're almost guaranteed a spot on this list, although Debra McMichael may scoff at only being considered an honorable mention. 

After a lengthy marriage with legendary wrestler/rassler Kurt Angle, Karen Angle was at the eye of a storm that saw her marriage with Angle crumble and a new, more controversial, matrimony materialize with Jeff Jarrett. 

The irony of such a scandalous union is that (outside of the fact that he was getting dangerously close to becoming a walking corpse with each passing day) Angle left WWE for TNA due to TNA's lighter schedule.  The career move enabled Angle to spend more time with his family. 

While Kurt Angle did get his wish of spending more time with Karen Angle, this has now come in the form of a worked shoot feud between Angle, his now ex-wife, and Jeff Jarrett. 

13. Chyna

After Sunny, Chyna was one of two notable 'Cliq Chick's' who traveled with the likes of Triple H and Sean "X-Pac" Waltman.  Not only did Chyna travel with the two Attitude Era stars, she dated them. 

Chyna's relationship with Triple H ended when Triple H engaged in a duplicitous relationship with Stephanie McMahon in perhaps the most lucrative affair (according to Chyna) in pro wrestling history.

The romance between Triple H (Paul Levesque) and Stephanie McMahon in 2000 led to a marriage between the two in 2003, as the two enjoyed both an on-screen and real life relationship as a power couple.

Chyna downgraded to Sean Waltman following her relationship with Triple H.  The two gained notoriety for making a horrifying sex tape entitled 'One Night In Chyna' (watch if you dare), as Chyna would engage in a downward spiral that continues to this day. 

12. Sable

Sable debuted in WWE as a valet for Triple H; however, it wasn't long before she would pair up with real-life husband the 'Wildman' Marc Mero.  

The two officially divorced, probably after Sable realized she was married to the 'Wildman' Marc Mero, and Sable would enter into a relationship with then-WWE star Brock Lesnar. 

Lesnar and Sable (real name Rena Mero) tied the knot in 2004, and they have two children.  

11. Miss Elizabeth

If you grew up watching wrestling in the 80's, chances are you had a 'girl next door' type crush on Miss Elizabeth.

So the fact that she dated multiple wrestlers disqualifies her from being considered a 'ring rat' because that term just didn't fit Miss Elizabeth. Her admirers refused to hear such talk. 

Miss Elizabeth's relationship with Randy Savage, both kayfabe and legit, is perhaps the most famed wrestling relationship of all time. 

They were one of the few wrestling couples to have a successful on-camera wedding without the ceremonies being interrupted by either a bombshell or Triple H drugging the spouse and marrying her for himself.

In fact, it was Lex Luger who could be blamed for allegedly drugging Savage's former spouse. 

In 2003, the real-life relationship between Luger and Liz, following her divorce from Savage, ended with Miss Elizabeth's tragic death from acute toxicity.

The 9-1-1 call placed by Luger led to the former three-time world champion's own arrest as they found a litany of drugs in his home, where Elizabeth also resided, including OxyContin and anabolic steroids. 

10. Sunny

Sunny was the 90's version of Miss Elizabeth (unless you're Triple H), however only in terms of celebrity as opposed to perceived innocence.

As the 'original Diva' of the then-sausage fest that was the WWF, it was only academic that Sunny would ultimately have relations with her male peers. 

Sunny was involved in a well known relationship with longtime boyfriend Chris Candido.  The on-again, off-again relationship was put through the ringer when Sunny engaged in a steamy nine-month relationship with Shawn Michaels. 

That noteworthy relationship ended when, according to Sunny, Sunny decided she wanted to work things out with Candido after Michaels asked her to move in with her. 

9. Mickie James

If it weren't for her exceptional ability inside of a wrestling ring, Mickie James may have garnered a more prominent reputation as a glorified ring rat the likes of Missy Hyatt.

James' love life has seen her in a pair of lengthy relationships with Kenny Dykstra (Ken Doane) and Joey Mercury.  James was previously engaged to the former.  

James has also been linked to John Cena in a rumored relationship that has been reported as both a fling as well as an instance of Mickie James attempting to have an extra-marital affair with John Cena. 

Such vixenish behavior reportedly got Mickie James shipped to Smackdown! for her troubles. 

8. Triple H

Triple H's particular dating resume earns merit primarily for the power involved in it, both figuratively and literally. 

Currently married to the boss' daughter, Stephanie McMahon (figurative power), Triple H previously dated the larger than life wrestler Chyna (literal power) for a lengthy period of time.  

7. Matt Hardy

If Matt Hardy's online tirades and career implosion haven't been entertaining enough, his dating life could serve as a formidable alternative. 

Matt Hardy's well documented relationship with popular WWE Diva Lita came to a screeching halt when it was revealed that Lita had been having an affair with fellow WWE Superstar Edge. 

The real-life affair was manufactured into a scandalous on-screen romance, between Edge and Lita, that launched Edge's career to new heights while ultimately leading to Matt Hardy's dismissal from the company for behaving unprofessionally in regards to the whole ordeal.

Despite being hired back by WWE in 2005, Matt Hardy never reached the heights that Edge continues to enjoy to this day, and he asked for his release in 2010 after a rather rocky ending with the world wide leader. 

With his obvious proclivity to the love triangle in full force, Matt Hardy would find himself in a lower profile dispute with WWE doormat (and purist favorite) Paul London when the two vied for the affection of Ashley Massaro, who Matt Hardy also dated.

Hardy has currently rebounded, as he is reportedly dating a Playboy playmate.  

6.Test

Call him horse-faced if you want, but Test's stable was filled with ponies as his dating resume vaults him to just outside the top five. 

Test was an alumnus of the increasingly popular "I've dated Kelly Kelly" club, on the strength of a substantive romance with the WWE Diva, and he also previously dated Stacy Keibler. 

5. Lita

Lita's dating resume reads like the bullet points on Jerry Spinger's cue card. 

Lita's much publicized affair with Adam "Edge" Copeland lead to the firing of Matt Hardy when Hardy did what he does best and threw a public tirade over his ex's infidelity. 

Following Lita's relationships with Hardy and Edge, Lita went on to date CM Punk to bolster her resume. 

Lita's relationships with world champions, and Matt Hardy, are impressive enough on their own. 

However, depending on whether or not you believe those rumors about Lita's indiscretions in Mexico, she may be ranked a bit low on this list. 

4. Missy Hyatt

Before the aforementioned Sunny, Miss Elizabeth, Sable, Sensational Sherri, and dirt there was Missy Hyatt.

Unlike many of the others to have made this list, Missy Hyatt was primarily notorious for her romantic exploits with wrestlers and notable professional athletes. 

In fact, Hyatt revolutionized the backstage affair as she cheated on then-husband John Tatum, a former wrestler who made his hay in World Class Championship Wrestling, with fellow wrestler Eddie Gilbert. 

Missy Hyatt has also dated Jason Hervey, and was constantly linked to having sexual relations with superstars she managed, worked with, and even passed in the lobby. 

Due to the uncertainty of many of the dating rumors surrounding Hyatt, she remains just inside the top five. 

However, if half of the 'Missy Hyatt List' of wrestlers in which Hyatt has allegedly slept with is true, chick is No. 1 with a bullet. 

3. Batista

It's been said, in criticism of Dave Batista passion for pro wrestling, that all Batista cares about is cars and women. 

Half of that can be confirmed on this very list as big Dave has enjoyed his share of beautiful women. 

Batista briefly dated Kelly Kelly, before he found out the age difference was borderline incestuous as he was pretty much dating his daughter.  Batista also dated Melina while Melina was on the outs with real life beau and WWE Superstar John Morrison. 

Batista has also copped to dating Rosa Mendes during his career rampage through the highly attractive roster of WWE divas, and has been linked to notable WAG and former WWE backstage interviewer Rebecca DiPietro,

2. Kelly Kelly

If Missy Hyatt blazed the trail for ring rats in professional wrestling, Kelly Kelly is sprinting on the metaphorical dirt, sneakers and all. 

With a dating resume that is not short on talent or celebrity, Kelly Kelly has been linked to Batista, Test, and Chris Jericho...and those are just the appetizers. 

Kelly Kelly caught Jeremy Piven's eye during an episode of RAW that Piven infamously hosted, and the two were spotted at a New York Jets game shortly after. 

Kelly Kelly has also been linked to Jeff Hardy in various dating rumor mills, but the artist formerly known as Barbie Blank seems to have settled into an actual relationship with Justin Gabriel, who she is currently dating. 

1. CM Punk

Is it the hair?  The tattoos?  The bleach?  Is it the Chicago accent or the trunks?  His rebellious attitude?  Whatever it is, few people currently in wrestling can hold a candle to what CM Punk has accomplished in his own dating career. 

Punk has dated a who's who of wrestling's superficially elite, including Traci Brooks, Maria Kannelis, and Lita. 

Punk has also reportedly dated Becky Bayless, of TNA Jersey Shore knockoff fame, and is currently dating Beth Phoenix.

Perhaps the celebrated evangelism of CM Punk's character isn't too far from his real life persona.  Maybe CM Punk is able to brainwash women into accepting Straight Edge, if not for one night.   

Honorable Mention: Debra Marshall

Formerly known as Debra McMichael, Debra Marshall married former Chicago Bears linebacker and pro wrestler Steve McMichael before making the mistake of marrying Stone Cold Steve Austin.  Marshall learned the err of her marriage  when the Rattlesnake struck (her in the face).
