SEC Football Community Leaders Extra: Week Three Power Rankings

Justin HokansonSep 7, 2008
This list is a weekly ranking put together by the SEC football community leaders here at Bleacher Report.

1. Points: 70 Stock: SAME
The Bulldogs dominated the Central Michigan offense and put up 56 points in the process. Knowshon Moreno and Matt Stafford look good. Next up for the Bulldogs is a road trip to South Carolina.

2. Points: 67 Stock: SAME
Florida struggled with Miami for three quarters, but Tim Tebow and Co. put it away in the fourth. Still no sign of Florida's running game other than Tebow. The Gators are off this week before a road trip to Tennessee.

3. Points: 59 Stock: SAME
LSU had an off week after its game with Troy was postponed. One more tuneup this week against North Texas before the big trip to Auburn.

4. Points: 56 Stock: SAME
Auburn's offense was better this week under Chris Todd, but four turnovers held the Tigers back. Robert Dunn leads the nation in punt return yards. Next up is a road trip to Mississippi State.

5. Points: 48 Stock: SAME
After the huge win over Clemson, the Tide had a bit of a letdown game on offense against Tulane. A win is a win, though; freshman back Mark Ingram still looks good. Next up for the Tide is Western Kentucky.

6. Points: 36 Stock: UP
Tennessee only moved up in the rankings because South Carolina moved back down. The Vols had an off week and now play UAB before their next big test against Florida.

7. Points: 35 Stock: UP
The Rebels lost a heartbreaker at Wake Forest. Ole Miss moves up in the rankings, though, because it looked solid and Jevan Snead passed his first big test. Next up for the Rebels is Samford.

8.
Points: 32 Stock: UP
Break up the Commodores! Vanderbilt has won two in a row, including a home win over ranked South Carolina. Could this be the year Vanderbilt goes to a bowl? Next up for the 'Dores is Rice.

9.
Points: 22 Stock: DOWN
The Gamecocks suffered a disappointing loss at Vanderbilt on Thursday night. It's back to the drawing board for Steve Spurrier and the quarterbacks after two more interceptions, and the defense gave up crucial plays down the stretch. Next up for the Gamecocks is a huge home game against Georgia.

10. Points: 19 Stock: DOWN
Kentucky won a meaningless game against Norfolk State. They didn't move down because of the way they played, more the way Vanderbilt is playing right now. Next up for the 'Cats is a non-conference game with Middle Tennessee State.

11.
Points: 15 Stock: DOWN
Mississippi State rebounded from that loss to Louisiana Tech to dominate SE Louisiana. The Bulldogs need to find some playmakers other than Anthony Dixon. Next up for State is a huge home game against Auburn, a team it upset last season.

12. Points: 14 Stock: SAME
The Hogs are now 2-0, but both wins came by close margins against Western Illinois and Louisiana Monroe. Arkansas needs to get its offense going before the fourth quarter. Next up for the Hogs is a tough road game at Texas.
