This morning we updated our fantasy rankings for Week 13.
Here are some notes on tight ends and pass defenses heading into this week's games:
-Over his past six games, Ravens tight end Todd Heap has caught five touchdowns. In addition, he has 49-plus yards in five of those six games.
-Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has only two receptions in his past three games. During that same span, fellow rookie Rob Gronkowski has 11 receptions for 162 yards and three touchdowns.
-Speaking of Gronkowski, he is the featured tight end in our free fantasy football contest.
-Colts tight end Jacob Tamme has six-plus receptions and 60-plus yards in all five of his starts since teammate Dallas Clark was placed on injured reserve (IR).
-Dallas tight end Jason Witten has had 90-plus receiving yards in three of his past six games. Indianapolis, this week's opponent, has allowed the second-fewest number of fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season.
-In three of his past four games, Giants tight end Kevin Boss has scored a touchdown. With receivers Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith out this week, he should see a decent amount of targets again, as Boss led the team in targets (eight) last week.
-Chicago's Greg Olsen also has scored a touchdown in three of his past four games.
Here are my top 10 fantasy tight ends for Week 13:
1. Antonio Gates, Chargers (vs OAK)
2. Jacob Tamme, Colts (vs DAL)
3. Vernon Davis, 49ers (at GB)
4. Tony Gonzalez, Falcons (at TB)
