Cristian Molinaro still can't play defense
Claudio Ranieri's first-choice left back better step things up if he wants to keep his spot in the starting XI. Molinaro has never been known for his defensive skills and teams are certainly exploiting it. Mario Santana took advantage of Molinaro's struggles defensively numerous times throughout the game. With his solid performance, people will now be clamoring for the Under-21 defender to start ahead of Molinaro against Udinese in two weeks.
Claudio Marchisio is the real deal
After impressing during his loan spell at Empoli last season, Marchisio was brought back despite the Juve midfield being a little crowded. With his performance today, there is no doubt why he shouldn't be challenging for a starting spot all season long.
Nicola Legrottaglie isn't just a one-year wonder
With Giorgio Chiellini out for a few more weeks, Legro is now the No. 1 center back on the Juve roster. He certainly showed he can handle things without his usual parter Chiiellini after shutting down Gilardino for almost the entire game. Central partner Olof Mellberg was beaten for the equalizer with fans left wondering why Legrottaglie wasn't marking the Italian striker.
