What ever happened to the good ole days of Prowrestling?

The names that come to mind are Stone Cold Steve Austin,Brett Hart,The Rock.WCW.

As I watch Raw week after week, I keep waiting to see any form of what I used to love about prowrestling. We got a glimps of that with the Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels storyline.  For those that haven't been following the storyline. Shawn Michaels appeared in the Raw program in Chris Jericho highlight reel. During the interview Jericho accused of Shawn Michaels cheating to win his matches. Michaels told Jericho that he would never be shawn Michaels and that he was jealous. Jericho attacked and threw Shawns head into a flat screen tv(The Jeritron 3000) which was part of the set, causing michaels to get glass fragments in his eye. Michaels was out for a few weeks and came back to face Jericho at The Great American Bash pay-per view. Jericho focused on Michaels weak eye causing Michaels to bleed profusely. The ref stopped the match due the the amount of blood and announced Jericho the winner. The following weeks Jericho took personal shots at Michaels saying he put him out of wrestling. That led to Michaels coming out at Summerslam with his wife to announce his retirement. Jericho, not to be outdone, strutted to the ring to confront Michaels. He wanted Michaels to go home and tell his kids that it was Jericho who was making him retire. Michaels said he would ,if Jericho would tell his own kids that he would never be Shawn Michaels. Jericho went to punch Michaels, Michaels moved resulting in Jericho punching Michaels wife. Jericho left the ring while Michaels attended to his wife who was down in the ring. After the pay per view Michaels was interview saying that he was going home to explain to his children why their mother was hurt and tend to his wife and ended it with And then... and then..

This leads up to last weeks Raw with Shawn confronting Jericho and challenging him to an Unsanctioned match at Unforgiven. The next WWE pay-per view.

I don't condone violence against women at all, but this match has that personal touch that wrestling has been missing. This is an angle that emotes emotion. It lets you sympathise with an individual where there is clearly a good vs. bad theme which was a staple in 80's storyline i.e. Macho Man/Elizabeth vs. Flair ect. I am glad to see this type of storyline return where there is real emotion shown. WWE has been missing the emotion it once had. Hopefully we will see more of the personal storylines return.

My prediction for Unforgiven is that Shawn Michaels will make Jericho pay for his attack on Michaels wife. Oh Yes! There will be blood!
