Have We Seen The Last of Agent 0?

Guns in the locker room? Yeah, that's childish, dangerous and a few other adjectives...you fill in your own! Gilbert Arenas, the infamous Agent 0 and NBA court jester, has decided to tone it down and focus solely on basketball. What a novel idea...But was it HIS idea?

The NBA consists of 30 teams; each having to mesh multiple personalities to be successful - introverts, extroverts and "Level-G's". G is for Gilbert. Personalities in this class are way over the top. What may be off limits or offensive to the other 2 groups are well within the boundaries for this group. This is why you can have an incident within an NBA locker room with guns and then see additional spin off reactions to the same incident with what seems to be no remorse.

Enter the lil man behind the curtain.

IMAGE IS EVERYTHING!!!. The NBA is a multi-billion dollar global industry which is growing and its image is everything. David Stern, the NBA commissioner and law enforcement, has done a great job at constructing a marketable image of this global product . As profits continue to move skyward and the NBA branches into other countries, the difficulty of managing that image is increased exponentially.

So what makes a Level G personality, such as Arenas, suddenly want to tone it down and possibly become an introvert? It could be a mix of many factors. Maybe its maturity. We know players come into the league and grow up in the public eye. Eventually rookies become vets and the life under the bright lights are not as alluring. Maybe its recovering from a public humiliation and a possible dissolution of an enormous contract that shocks you back to reality...Or maybe, just maybe the man with the Napolean complex gives you a direct order to quit the okey-dokey behavior or suffer being beat in the knee-caps.
