UEFA Champions League Week 2 Review: Rubin Keep Barcelona at Bay Again

Week 2 in UEFA Champions League brought us once again a lot of entertaining matches.

 

Of course, some teams had a nightmare start such as Braga and Panathinaikos.

 

While teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern, Lyon and Real Madrid did a great start.

 

Here are  some stat from week 2:

Total Goals: 42

Top Goalscorer: Samuel Eto'o 4 (Inter)

The highest scoring match: Tottenham vs Twente 4-1 (Group A)

Eto'o 21’, 27’, 81’, Sneijder 34’

- Inter easily destroyed poor Werder. Big game played Samuel Eto'o who scored a hat trick.

 

Tottenham vs Twente  4-1

van der Vaart 46’, Pavlyuchenko 50’ (pen.), 64’ (pen.), Bale 85’   /   Chadli 56’

- Tottenham had three penalties! VDV missed while Pavlyuchenko scored two goals from penalty.

- While they struggle pretty bad in domestic league, Lyon is destroying in Champions League.

- Schalke struggles in domestic league just like Lyon and hopefully things will change after this great presentation.

- Rubin's tactic earned them a  draw. Barcelona once again stopped by Russians.
