Chris Jericho Rips Into The Internet Fans On Twitter!

Matthew HesterSenior Writer ISeptember 23, 2010

Jericho is on the attack again with the internet fans again. This time he took it to them hard with his recent comments. He went on twitter and basically called all of us mindless puppets.  You would think he would be more appreciative of his internet followers.

It was after all the fans on the net that helped him become as big as he did. Whether he may want to ever admit this or not is a different story. While he does make some valid points in what he says. I feel he didn’t have to be as harsh as he did.

Here is what Jericho had to on his twitter account

"Hey Internet...Im a heel. Heels lie, therefore if I say something boastfully and reneg on it, it's not an official stipulation. Smarten up! Hello Internet experts. Allow me to explain something to u kiddies. Winning and losing means nothing if you do it properly. I would be happy to lose to every single one of you and watch your faces as I walk out of the arena with more heat than before. Watch and learn children. Sit back and let the real experts work our magic as we make u behave like the puppets that you are. Cheers!"

While I am not offended by Jericho’s statement, I do think he may be underestimating the intelligence of the modern wrestling fan. When the internet became a mainstay for the modern media, it basically opened the door for wrestling fans to understand how the wrestling business works.

While we may never fully understand it, I think most know what a “work”, “Angle”, or “Shoot” is. It’s not like years ago when the only form of knowledge out there was the Pro Torch newsletter. What Jericho and all wrestlers need to understand is that todays fans are much smarter than they think.
