Does Michael Vick's Performance vs. Packers Create QB Controversy in Philly?
Whenever Eagles QB Kevin Kolb is healthy enough to play, which may not be next Sunday, will he retain the starting job or will head coach Andy Reid go with the hot hand and play Mike Vick?
Fox analyst Troy Aikman can say what he wants about Kolb still being Reid's guy, but you can't convince me that this decision is so cut and dried (especially with Philly fans) following Vick's performance in the loss against Green Bay on Sunday.
Of course, there may not even be a decision to make next week, as Kolb suffered a concussion in the second quarter when he was sacked by Clay Matthews.

Thinking he simply had a jaw injury, Kolb was allowed to play one more series but the injury was worse than thought. The NFL is taking concussions a lot more seriously these days, as we know, and he sat out the second half.
Even if Kolb could play at Detroit next Sunday, Vick would likely be the better choice since he will be healthier than someone just coming off of a head injury. But, the real controversy will start if Vick continues to play like he did in the second half of Sunday's game against the Packers.
Despite the 27-20 loss, Vick completed 16 of 24 passes for 175 yards and a touchdown, and finished with a QB rating of 101.9. He also rushed for 103 yards on 11 carries.
This was Vick's first meaningful playing time in four years, and he took full advantage of the opportunity.
Meanwhile, prior to the injury, Kolb was 5-for-10 for 24 yards for a QB rating of 56.2.
Look, it may not be fair to take someone's job away due to injury, but it happens all the time in professional sports.
Whether you happen to believe that Vick should be playing the NFL after his dog convictions or not, he is playing and he played very well.
He may be a lowlife in real life, but he is an asset to Reid and the Eagles, and he adds an element that Kolb simply does not: break away speed and elusive running ability.
But Vick was not just a runner on Sunday. His throws were accurate, and despite a 13-3 halftime deficit that grew to 27-10 by the fourth quarter, he sparked the team to a comeback that just fell short.
Near the end of the game, Vick drove his team down to the Packers 42 yard line, failing to convert on a fourth-and-1 as the improbable comeback fell just short.
Still, it was a terrific effort from Vick, who showed he has not lost any of his great speed and his passing accuracy showed no rust either.
Kolb may still be the guy, but Vick has definitely opened some eyes in Philadelphia.
