Floyd Mayweather's racist rant about Many Pacquiao built up even more anticipation for the on-again, off-again matchup between the two champion boxers.

But just when we thought it was a go.  Mayweather gave us another reason to say "Oh, no!"

With his rant and his arrest, Mayweather may have just ruined his repution as well as killed any chance of having a fight against Manny Pacquiao.

For Mayweather

He holds a perfect record at 41-0, with 25 knockouts and ranked by The Ring as the number 2 pound-for-pound boxer in the world.

Mayweather holds six world boxing championships in five different weight classes.

For Pacquiao

He is ranked as the number 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world by ESPN, the Ring and several major boxing publications.

Pac-man is also the first fighter to ever win seven-world championship titles in seven different weight divisions.

Pacquiao vs. Mayweather

The only thing that was lacking was a duel between two of the best boxers in the world.

But it hasn't been that easy.

There were constant negotiations that never seemed to be resolved.

The Drug Testing Holdup

There was the constant back-and-forth between each side.

And plenty of disagreements and miscommunication regarding drug testing.

It was rumored that Pacquiao refused to be tested within 30 days of the fight because he was worried that it would weaken him.

Then later, Pacquiao's camp said it was no problem.  Yet the match still never happened.

The Snubbed Deadline

Pacquiao supporters say that Mayweather was just trying to delay the fight and find a way to get out of it.

Or was he just afraid?

"I'm not interested in rushing to do anything," Mayweather told the AP.

As his side let the deadline for exclusive negotiations pass by.  It certainly didn't sound like he was that excited about fighting Pacquiao right away.

The UStream Rant

On September 2, Mayweather's mouth went running and it wouldn't stop.

He called Pacquiao a "midget" and argued that during their match, he would make Pacquiao “make me some sushi rolls and cook me some rice.”

Mayweather started his rant by mentioning that his record was spotless.

The Las Vegas Arrest

Just over a week after his much ballyhhooed rant, Mayweather once again made news.

He was arrested on grand larceny charges early in the morning on Friday, September 10.

Mayweather allegedly stole personal items which included an iPhone from his ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris.

The day before, Harris had contacted police because she claims that Mayweather hit her in the face and twisted her arm.

Mayweather had already been acquitted of any wrongdoing after being accused of hitting Harris at a Las Vegas nightclub.

Manny's Image and Legacy

While Mayweather has found trouble, Pacquiao has maintained a solid image and is well-respected in his native Philippines and worldwide.

He is the only active boxer to become a congressman in the Philippines.

With or without a Mayweather fight, is a shoe-in as one of the top boxers of this decade.

Is he one of the greatest of all-time?  That may never be decided until a Mayweather bout.

Mayweather's Image and Legacy

Mayweather's image has taken some hits this past week, after his arrest and his video rant.

Though his record may be perfect, he has never fought the number one boxer in the world.

And his record outside the ring is far from exceptional.  Aside from the rant and the arrest, Mayweather has a history of bar fights and domestic trouble.

The dispute of who is better can only be settled in the ring.  But Mayweather may have just ruined all chances of that ever happening.

How It Will Never Happen

For the last year, the boxing world has been hungry of a head-to-head battle between Mayweather and Pacquiao.

First it was set to be on March 13, then on November 13.

Yet the stars simply haven't aligned.

With Pacquiao flirting with the idea of retirment and Mayweather caught up in domestic troubles, the two fighters don't look to be heading for a match.

At least not anytime soon.

If it does happen, it may happen too late.

Who should we blame?  Blame "Pretty Boy" Floyd.
