Michigan vs Notre Dame, one of the best rivalries not only in college sports, I'll say in sports in general. Both teams have had storied traditions, Michigan having won eleven national titles, Notre Dame winning ten. Both haven't been back to the promised land in a while. Michigan last won a national title in 1998. The last time Notre Dame won it all was back in 1988.
Much like last year's ballgame in Ann Arbor, both teams are hyped off key season opening victories in this one. Michigan will depend heavily on young speedy quarterback Denard Robinson to lead the offense. Last week Denard rushed for over 100 yards and created over 300 yards of offense for the Wolverines. He will have to come up big in this one as well if the Wolverines are to have a chance.
As for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, they play a young quarterback as well in Dayne Crist, who has taken the reigns of the program from Jimmy Clausen who has graduated to the pro ranks. Dayne will have some weapons to throw to tomorrow in receiver Michael Floyd and tight end Kyle Rudolph.
I think what the game is going to come down to is whether Michigan sophomore sensation Denard Robinson can have a big game running the ball, and I am curious to see how Michigan's thin secondary handles the pressure of playing a big time road game in South Bend, and whether they can stop the dangerous Notre Dame receivers. These and many more questions should be answered at 3:30 tomorrow.
Don't miss out on one of the greatest college football rivalries in the country. It should be a good one!
