NHL Buzz: The Latest on Bill Guerin, Peter Mueller, Bobby Ryan and More

Todd CordellCorrespondent ISeptember 10, 2010

Various media outlets are reporting that Bill Guerin wants to play for the Flyers or Devils and would accept a camp invite to those teams.

My take: I think Guerin would be a great fit on the Flyers and the Devils; however, they're both in a tight cap situation and if Guerin signed he would have to accept less than a million dollars.

The Colorado Avalanche have re-signed RFA forward Peter Mueller to a two-year deal worth a total of four million dollars.

My take: This is great news for the Avalanche as they will get one of their better players re-signed right before training camp opens up.

Bobby Ryan and the Ducks continue to get closer to an extension, but nothing is done yet.

My take: I expect Ryan will be signed within the next few days as Ryan wants to stay in Anaheim (at least for a few years) and the Ducks want to keep him.

The Edmonton Oilers have re-signed UFA forward Andrew Cogliano to a one-year deal worth one million dollars.

My take: This is a great signing by the Oilers as they get a good player at a great price. Another positive for the Oilers is Cogliano will work his butt off to improve this season so he can land a bigger contract next year.

The New Jersey Devils announced that their home game October 11th against the Penguins has been rescheduled from one PM ET to 4 PM ET.

My take: This is a smart move by the Devils, it is a rivalry game and now it will be played at a time when more fans are free and have the ability to go to the game.
