Come To Think of It...The Ugly End to the Brett Favre Saga
ESPN is confirming that former Green Bay Packer QB Brett Favre has been traded to the Jets, ending the saga that has played out on the front pages of virtually every newspaper's sports section across the country.
The exact compensation was not immediately known, but it is believed to be a single draft pick that increases in value depending upon how the Jets perform during the 2008 season.
So, the Packers will have a game started by another QB other than Favre for the first time in 253 games (275 including the playoffs). The surprising thing in all of this is how the future Hall of Fame QB has been treated by fans and team personnel alike.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Look, the guy has been one of the greatest of all time at his position, yet it seems the Pack couldn't wait to move on once he announced his retirement.
I sure hope, for the Packers' front office's sake, that Aaron Rogers is everything they think he can be at the QB position. Because if he has a rough year, and Favre leads the Jets to the playoffs, the Packers will look pretty damn stupid.
Do they realize what they have had all these years? Maybe they're spoiled and blinded by his success, but this reminds me of when the Chicago Bulls couldn't wait to start the post-MJ era. How did that one work out, Jerry Reinsdorf?
In any case, the Jets will likely now look to move or release Chad Pennington and go with the younger QBs as backups to Farve.
Not that you need a backup when Favre plays.
Again, as I've written before, this isn't Willie Mays finishing his career as a washed-up New York Mets outfielder. Favre is coming off an outstanding season, with 4,155 passing yards, 28 touchdown passes, and career-highs in both completion percentage (66.5 percent) and yards per attempt (7.8).
As Green Bay moves on to life without Brett, the rest of us are left scratching our heads, wondering just what would have been so terrible about having Favre come back to lead the green and gold one last time. But those are decisions for men much smarter than we are.
Come to think of it, I guess one man's treasure is another man's junk.
