Top Ten Fantasy RB Commentary
Earlier this week we took a look at the Top Ten QB’s in our rankings. Today we are going to take a look at the Top Ten RB’s. I tell ya, I’m looking more and more at the fact that the #5 spot in a re-draft league would not be a bad place to sit. You don’t have to stress over who to take and can let the rest of the league dictate who falls to you and still get a Joey Addai and an earlier pick in the 2nd round. It really is a toss up in those top spots after LT (some would argue that should be Peterson).
Anyway, here is some commentary on the top 10. You can see the rest of the RB rankings HERE.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
LaDainian Tomlinson
It has been quite a few years since the top RB position was contested. It looks as if LT’s reign at the top may be soon coming to a close. Don’t count him out just yet. In a re-draft league he still has to be on top of the list.
Adrian Peterson
Your actually going to see some owners jumping on Adrian Peterson first overall in a lot of drafts. I’m not quite sold on that yet. There are two things I want to see first. #1, better QB play and #2 less Chester Taylor play. Now, with that said, Adrian Peterson should be set up to have another great season. Imagine if he can go through it injury free! The defense should keep the score down with the Vikings not having to play catch up too much.
Steven Jackson
Had points per reception been taken into consideration, this spot would belong to Brian Westbrook. Last season many a fantasy owner was burned by Steven Jackson. We remember that and so does he. Look for Jackson to redeem himself and his fantasy stock this season. Get in camp Steven!
Brian Westbrook
Remember when Westy took a dive to keep the clock running last season rather than go in for a TD? That TD would have actually put him over LT for points for the season up to that game in my re-draft last season. If we could be guaranteed Westbrook would not go down he could be in any of the three spots above, yes even #1. But can we count on him for a full fantasy season? Even with his usual missed time last year he had career highs in Rushing Yards/Attempts and Catches/Yards in the air.
Joseph Addai
Joseph Addai is a sure thing, You know what your going to get with him. You know your going to get at least 70 yards and more than likely a TD. Why is he down here? Come on…you heard Dominic Rhodes is back. No, he isn’t any sort of threat to take Addai’s job but he is to take carries. They had some success with that tandem a couple years back you may remember. Even so, if your in the #5 spot in your redraft, I envy you because worst your going to do is Joey Addai and that isn’t a bad thing at all!
Frank Gore
Despite Frank Gore facing what is expected to be the toughest Run-D schedule, things seem to be looking up. Mike Martz is in town in case you have not heard and he has compared Gore to Marshal Faulk. Coaches always seem to do that don’t they? Sometimes I think it is to remind others how successful they once were while coaching a great player. Anyway, if the Niners get this QB thing figured out soon they can concentrate on making Frank Gore the next Faulk.
Marion Barber III
Okay Marion, your time to shine. Julius is out, your in. Show us more than you did in the playoffs, please. It’s logical to think, “Well if he did that great part-time, wait until he is the starter”, in this situation. They don’t have to overload him either with the addition of Felix Jones in the 2008 NFL Draft. Watch for the Cowboys offense to continue to click and Barber as well!
Marshawn Lynch
One thing that has been consistent over Dick Jauron’s career as a head coach is that his offense usually is in the bottom half of the league. On a positive note, Lynch is going to be the workhorse. Out of the 28 rushing attempts averaged per game by the Bills, he averaged 21.5 of them.
Clinton Portis
Last season Clinton Portis was supposed to give up a bunch of carries to Ladell Betts. Truth is Portis only averaged losing 4.2 carries to other runners a game. The coaching staff is impressed with his offseason participation and the new offense can set up Portis for a move up the RB ranks.
Larry Johnson
2007 never happened. Keep saying that Larry until you…and we…believe it. It’s funny to think that last eyar at this time the big question was where in the top 3 Johnson fit, now he struggles to make the top 10. Goes to show that fantasy owners are all about “What did you do for me last year?” when it comes to fantasy football drafts and can hold a grudge. Another year with Brodie Croyle at QB…
