American League's Best Dynamic Duos

THE TOP SEVEN

1. Texas Rangers (Josh Hamilton & Milton Bradley) - the Texas sluggers lead the American League in RBI (161) and OPS (965). They also come second in batting average (.307), HR (43), OBP (.399), and slugging (.566). The Rangers have by far the best offense in all of baseball and these two players are the crux.

2. Chicago White Sox (Carlos Quentin & Jermaine Dye) - the White Sox outfielders lead the American League in HR (51) and slugging (.567). They come in second in RBI (142) and OPS (.942). They come fifth in batting average (.297) and sixth in OBP (.375). These two players are the reasons the White Sox are in first place.

3. New York Yankees (Bobby Abreu & Alex Rodriguez) - the Yankees sluggers come third in the American League in RBI (128), OBP (.379), slugging (.522), and OPS (.901). They also come fourth in batting average (.303) and HR (32). They have helped the Yankees surge back into contention.

4. Minnesota Twins (Joe Mauer & Justin Morneau) - the M&M boys lead the American League in batting average (.319) and OBP (.403). They also come fourth in RBI (122) and OPS (.892) and seventh in slugging (.489). These sluggers keep the Twins in contention in the AL Central.

5. Baltimore Orioles (Nick Markakis & Aubrey Huff) - the Orioles (underrated) sluggers are third in the American League in HR (35), fourth in slugging (.505), fifth in RBI (119), sixth in OPS (.878) and average (.292), and seventh in OBP (.373).

6. Boston Red Sox (David Ortiz & Manny Ramirez) - the Red Sox sluggers are fifth in the American League in HR (32), OBP (.376), and OPS (.879). They also come fifth in slugging (.503). They bat .278 with 107 RBI, neither of which are top seven in the American League (although it's due to Big Papi's injury).

7. Detroit Tigers (Carlos Guillen & Magglio Ordonez)  - the Tigers sluggers are third in the American League in batting average (.305), fourth in OBP (.378), and seventh in RBI (111) and OPS (.855). They have 23 HR and .477 slugging, neither of which are top seven in the American League.

Tampa Bay Rays (Carl Crawford & Evan Longoria) - the Rays sluggers are fourth (tied) in the American League in slugging (.505), sixth in RBI (113), eighth in HR (27) and OPS (.837), and eleventh in batting average (.273) and OBP (.332). Numbers would probably be higher if Crawford was healthier.

9. Seattle Mariners (Raul Ibanez & Adrian Beltre) - the Mariners sluggers are sixth in the American League in HR (30), eighth in RBI (108), ninth in OBP (.340), tenth in slugging (.445) and OPS (.785), and thirteenth in batting average (.269).

10. Cleveland Indians (Ben Francisco & Jhonny Peralta) - the Indians sluggers are ninth in the American League in HR (25), slugging (.469), and OPS (.793), eleventh in RBI (91) and batting average (tied/.273), and thirteenth in OBP (.325). Cleveland doesn't have a single top-seven category.

11. Toronto Blue Jays (Alex Rios & Lyle Overbay) - the Blue Jays sluggers are eighth in the American league in OBP (.355), ninth in batting average (.278), eleventh in OPS (.768), thirteenth in slugging (.414), and last in HR (14) and RBI (86). Toronto doesn't have a single top-seven category.
