The biggest question surrounding the 2008 Wisconsin Badgers is who will start at quarterback, senior Allan Evridge or junior Dustin Scherer?
If there's a silver lining to the lack of a quarterback solution, it's the fact the Badgers return all of their running backs, almost all of their offensive linemen and all-American tight end Travis Beckum.
Wisconsin also boasts a talented, experienced defense.
Here are my predictions for the 2008 Wisconsin Badgers:
8/30 AKRON
The Zips can't keep up with the Badgers.
Prediction: Win (44-10)
9/06 MARSHALL
A practice game before traveling to the West Coast.
Prediction: Win (48-13)
9/13 at FRESNO STATE
Coach Pat Hill and the Bulldogs aren't shying away from lofty expectations. The Badgers better not overlook them.
Prediction: Loss (35-34)
9/27 at MICHIGAN
The Badger defense saves the day.
Prediction: Win (24-17)
10/04 OHIO STATE
The Badgers keep it close until early in the fourth quarter, when Beanie Wells runs for two touchdowns to seal the victory for the Buckeyes.
Prediction: Loss (34-16)
10/11 PENN STATE
This will be a battle for the Big Ten Runner-Up spot.
Prediction: Win (31-28)
10/18 at IOWA
The Hawkeyes are just over-matched.
Prediction: Win (42-21)
10/25 ILLINOIS
The Badgers are determined to win out.
Prediction: Win (27-21)
11/01 at MICHIGAN STATE
This game will be a lot closer than people think. Sparty just misses.
Prediction: Win (24-21)
11/08 at INDIANA
It's nice when you get Wisconsin at home. Usually...
Prediction: Win (20-17)
11/15 MINNESOTA
The Badgers get a scare...in the first half.
Prediction: Win (31-17)
11/22 CAL POLY
A joke of a game to finish the season.
Prediction: Win (56-6)
Final Record: 10-2. The Badgers will finish the season strong and be invited to a BCS bowl for the first time under Coach Bret Bielema.

I predict the same overall record for the Wisconsin Badgers, at 10-2... but I see Wisconsin beating Fresno State, while losing at Michigan State :)

"Is Michigan out of it?"
For this season, YES!
I predict that Michigan will go 3-9 this season... although, I acknowledge that I can only realistically see Michigan finishing somewhere between (and inclusive of) 3-9 and 7-5.
In fact, the ONLY WAY that I can see Michigan finishing better than 7-5 this season is... IF Justin Feagin (somehow) performs like Pat White did in 2005.
However, this is VERY HIGHLY UNLIKELY, lolz :)

Really? I think the Badgers-Bucks matchup will be tougher than most people predict. I have Wisky eking out a win unless they're unable to stop the run.

I agree, there is just NO POSSIBLE WAY that Fresno State beats BOTH Rutgers AND Wisconsin by ONLY ONE point!!!
In fact, IF BOTH of those games are decided by ONLY ONE point... I am pretty certain that Fresno State will be on the LOSING END, in BOTH games :)

I would say if they stay healthy the Badgers have a shot at running the table and going to the title game. I'm not saying they are going to, I'm just saying they have a legit shot. Two years ago when Hill was healthy (and of course Joe Thomas was anchoring the O-Line) the Badgers were all business all the time and were quite frankly a covering machine, they just dominated teams. They came in as Dogs that New Year's Day against Mcfadden and the Hogs but outrighted them to finish 12-1 straight up, that's a solid team. Look for the Badgers to be solid once again.
