Forget all the rumors that you’ve heard all summer long, Cristiano Ronaldo will be a Manchester United player next season. Every day there’s been a story in the media about Ronaldo leaving for Real Madrid.  “Ronaldo drops quit hint” and “Real Confident of Ron deal” read some of the headlines. It has been the same thing every day.

But the immediete future of Ronaldo has finally been decided, according to Sir Alex Ferguson at least. The United boss admitted that he met with the Ronaldo last week and was adamant his top goal-scorer would be at Old Trafford next season.

“The meeting went well,” Ferguson said. “I think we both put across our points of viewwhere we stand and where the player stands.”

"I can say he’ll be a Manchester United player next season. That’s our stancehe won’t be sold.”

Despite Ronaldo revealing his admiration for Spanish giants Real Madrid, Ferguson claims he was always confident Ronaldo would still be a United player next season.

“I wasn’t panicked because the player is under contract, so the strength and the rights are with Manchester United."

So at last the rumors surrounding Ronaldo’s future will be put to end, at least I can only hope.  The good news, for Manchester United fans at least, is that their star man will still be around next season.

Ronaldo scored 31 league goals last season and was voted as the best player in England.  The United number seven scored an astonishing 42 goals in all competitions, and helped lead United to a second consecutive Premiership crown and a first European triumph in nine years.

With Ronaldo still in the squad next season, United will be stronger than ever.  After strong debut seasons for Anderson, Hargreaves, Tevez, and Nani, they are only going to get better this season and with the experience of Giggs and Scholes, United will once again be favorites to finish the season as Champions.

Not too sure about that. If Ronaldo does stay, you gotta think about the atmosphere within the dressing room.
But obviously Fergy would have everything under control. Just hope the team gels on the pitch atleast.

It reminds me of what happened at the 2006 World Cup with the whole Rooney sending off incident against Portugal. People all said that Ronaldo would leave and if he didn't then the team chemistry would be severely damaged. The atmosphere in the dressing room was fine and United went on to win the league. Ferguson will undoubtdely have everything under control... again.
