Rampage Suffering From A Mental Disorder?
It's been a tough couple of weeks for former Light Heavyweight Champion Quintin "Rampage" Jackson.
After being arrested earlier this week for a felony hit-and-run and subsequent police chase (felony evading). He was able to post the $25,000 bail.
However, Jackson has been stopped by the police again.

UFC 6 Reveals 5-Star Fighter Ratings
Credit TMZ:
Sources say around 4:30 P.M. yesterday, friends who were hanging out with Rampage, waved down an Irvine police car after they were worried about his behavior.
This fearful act is obviously following the unexpected car chase the day before in which the UFC fighter hit several cars in his monster truck and was arrested at gunpoint. I'm hearing that Irvine cops saw Rampage, deemed him a danger to himself and others, and took him to a hospital for observation.
Rampage seemed to be very cooperative with police. Cops won't officially confirm if it's a psychiatric hold.
This begs the question. Is Rampage depressed?
Credit Wikipedia:
Depression is defined as is a mental disorder characterized by a pervasive low mood, loss of interest in usual activities and diminished ability to experience pleasure. The diagnosis is made if a person has suffered one or more major depressive episodes.
You can't help think that after his loss to Forrest Griffin at UFC 86 and the continuous defeats for his team on the Ultimate Fighter may have "rocked" the fighters psyche.
People forget that fighters generally come from "dark" places. They use these "places" as motivation to learn the fight discipline in a professional environment. You need the right or maybe wrong mindset, plus that killer instinct.
So let's rewind.
Rampage loses the coaching war on the Ultimate Fighter, loses the belt and stardom (to some extent), and gets arrested for basically refusing to stop after nicking a car.
We won't go into the fact that he allegedly hit three cars. How about if he pulled over and called GEICO after the first one? Would there be a story or issue then?
Police say Jackson was NOT drunk or under the influence of drugs. So why do something to make matters worse? Especially when most believe there would be an immediate rematch between Griffin and Jackson possibly as early as December.
A simple answer could just be that "your mind is not right."
Rampage most likely feels that the world he worked so hard to build is crumbling around him.
When you are depressed. Nothing matters. There's no fun or enjoyment with friends or the normal activities you always liked to do. It's actually pretty sad and a dark place I wish no person to be.
Unfortunately, Rampage needs to talk to someone. A psychiatrist or another doctor might just be what Jackson needs to shed these demons and get back to business. Regardless of the fact that he is a charismatic celebrity and a great fighter, some may forget that he is a human being FIRST.
Everyone has problems, some they create and some are unfortunate circumstances. And at times, your mind can be your own worst enemy.
Now is the time for Rampage to get his mind right. However long it may take.
Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers overcame serious drug addiction to achieve a Home Run Derby record and what seems to be a great professional career, so far. He is doing pretty well for himself right now.
Rampage, can and I think will do the same.
We all hit bumps in the road in our lives and one quote that I always remember is, "As I walk through the valley in the shadow of death..." Understand this.
So whether we're walking through the "forest of fear," or swimming in life's "murky waters," we don't stay stagnant in those bad situations. We move past them and whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger.
Good luck in getting through this Quinton. I wish you the best. As hard as it feels now, I believe you will be vindicated with triumph in the near future.
When you are once again holding YOUR belt and your head up high. Respect!
