Sussex are starting to pull away after continuing their winning start in the latest set of County Championship Division Two fixtures.

In their latest match, Murray Goodwin's men beat Leicestershire by 10 wickets to lead the division on 86 points.

Leicestershire were inserted into bat after losing the toss and were skittled for 114, Naved-ul-Hassan with 4-49.

The home side then scored 392 thanks to Goodwin's 142 and Naved-ul-Hasan's 101.

Leicestershire showed fighting spirit in their second innings, battling to 383 all out. Paul Nixon with 93 from 222 balls.

But Sussex needed only 13.3 overs to knock off the 61 runs they needed for four consecutive victories.

Derbyshire are second on 59 points after being denied a victory by one wicket in a dramatic finish at Northamptonshire.

Northants made 220 in their first innings with Nicky Boje passing 50.

Derbyshire's reply got off to a fantastic start with a opening stand of 273Ā before Chris Rogers eventually fell for 141 and Wayne Madsen continued to 179 out of 480-5 declared.

But the home sideĀ survived by one wicket on 237-9 off 107 overs thanks to lower order batsmen Paul Harrison (32 from 144 balls)Ā and Jack Brooks (five from 34 balls) finishing unbeaten.

Glamorgan are third on 51 points withĀ two wins and two defeats from their four games after a two-day hammering of Worcestershire.

Worcestershire won the toss and batted with Moeen Ali's 85Ā dragging the home side to 134 all out with David Harrison taking 7-45.

Glamorgan replied with 267 thanks toĀ Ben Wright's 79 while Alan Richardson took 5-85.

ButĀ Worcestershire again failed with the bat,Ā Ali's 58 key to mustering 171 all out, collapsingĀ from 142-3. James Harris was chief destroyer with 5-56.

The away side knocked off the runs for the loss of one wicket.

Leicestershire's defeat to Sussex sees them slip to fourth with 46 points but theyĀ have a game in hand on all the sides above them.

Northamptonshire's draw against Derbyshire leaves them in fifth place with 45 points.

Worcestershire are in sixth on 33 points with one win, one draw and one loss.

Gloucestershire are seventh with 27 points after winning the basement battle against Middlesex.

The away side won the toss and batted with HamishĀ Marshall's 73-ball 72 key to their 268 all out with Ian O'Brien taking 7-48.

Middlesex replied with 203, Shaun Udal top scoring with 55 as Steve Kirby took 4-50.

Gloucestershire made 223 in their second innings with Chris Taylor making 61 and Gareth Berg taking 4-74.

The home side found the target of 289 too much though, only Dawid MalanĀ (60) offering much resistance in 185 all out as Gemaal Hussain snared 5-46.

Surrey in eighthĀ didn't play this week so stay on 18 points.

Middlesex prop up the table with 16 points after four straight defeats.

The next round of fixtures sees Leicestershire v Worcestershire andĀ Surrey V Gloucestershire on May 4-7 andĀ Sussex V Middlesex on May 5-8.
