New York Mets Stats: Ike Davis Has Turned this Club Around
It is no coincidence that the Mets have turned their season around with the arrival of first baseman Ike Davis .
Obviously, there are other contributing factors here including the pitching staff, moving Jose Reyes to third, and Jason Bay heating up, but it is impossible to deny Davis’ impact on the lineup.
Davis has not even come close to being the most heralded rookie in the National League this season, but right now he is playing like he is destined for a rookie of the year award.

10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Through 10 games, he has contributed offensively with 11 hits, three doubles, a home run, six RBI’s, a .355 batting average, a .432 OBP, and a .981 OPS. His OPS+ of 160 is probably unsustainable, but if he finishes the season anywhere near that he might not just compete for the ROY award, but the MVP too!
It’s not just his offense that has helped either, he’s done it with his glove as well.
Considering that he replaced a cement-footed, hard luck batter in the order in Mike Jacobs , Davis’ arrival is probably the biggest reason to assume that this recent Mets winning streak is not just a mere fluke, but a trend that will hopefully continue on the the remainder of the season.
