NFL Draft 2010: Kansas City Chiefs Get Dynamic Playmaker in McCluster
Kansas City Chiefs General Manager Scott Pioli wasn't joking when he said that his club was going to go after some high profile playmakers in this year's version of the NFL draft.
It would appear that Pioli and his staff hit a home run with the second-round pick of Ole Miss RB/WR Dexter McCluster.
McCluster amassed nearly 2,000 yards on the ground while picking up just over 1,700 receiving yards in his very productive career at the University of Mississippi.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Looking deeper into the stats, McCluster never fumbled once and rarely dropped passes, as he is known to be very sure-handed when the ball is thrown to him.
Something that you will not see in the stats, however, is McCluster's speed. The man is a touchdown waiting to happen. In one highlight video, DMC as they call him, is seen juking a University of Tennessee defender so bad that he ends up stumbling and almost tackling his own defensive teammate.
Pioli, head coach Todd Haley, and new offensive coordinator Charlie Weiss hope that this kind of play will carry over into the NFL for their newly found rookie playmaker.
The Chiefs hope to get him the ball many times in my different places. It has been reported that they will line him up as a slot wide receiver, a running back, possibly in the wildcat formation, and he also could partake in kick and punt return duties, among other things.
McCluster, like Eric Berry is a very high-character athlete, and will give the Chiefs another solid playmaker on the other side of the ball.
Many fans have already compared McCluster to a newer version of former Chiefs great Dante Hall. The Chiefs hope that they have another Hall plus more in McCluster.
He seems to be more like the KC's version of Desean Jackson.
He spent many games of his college career running by SEC defender after defender, now we will see if he can do the same in the NFL.
I believe that Chiefs fans will be in for a treat with DMC running around the field all day. September can't get here fast enough it seems.
