"Granite Chin" Should Focus on Fighting Englishman David Haye

Tomasz “Granite Chin” Adamek defeated Chris “The Nightmare” Arreola by a majority decision Saturday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, CA.

Despite surrendering a staggering 33.5 pounds to Arreola (28-2, 25 KOs), Adamek (41-1, 27 KOs) managed to withstand “The Nightmare’s” powerful blows and he utilized quick combinations to win the bulk of the rounds.

“This was the toughest fight I ever fought,” said Adamek, 33, who dedicated his victory to those who perished April 10 in the plane crash near Smolensk airport in western Russia. “This is why I believe I can be a world champion.”

Adamek, a former WBC world light heavyweight titlist and past IBF, IBO and The Ring magazine cruiserweight champion, firmly believes that he can trump WBA world heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KOs) and one, or both, of the Klitschko brother’s to capture additional crowns.

Adamek is tough and, by absorbing Arreola’s mammoth shots last weekend, he validated his “Granite Chin” nickname.

Nevertheless, it is hard to envision that Adamek could actually beat one of the colossal Klitschko’s.

Arreola is a skilled prizefighter and he absolutely possesses a fearsome presence in the ring. Sadly, Arreola is also a physical “Nightmare” whose physique resembles that of the lead character in the film “Precious.”

If Arreola was even in adequate condition, he would have been able to capture and pound the elusive Adamek.

“When I see a professional athlete in that kind of shape, I just shake my head with disgust,” said Brad Sherwood, a personal trainer at Gold’s Gym in Medford.

Unfortunately for the native of Riverside, he is too slow, lazy, and pathetic to capitalize on his vast pugilistic capabilities.

Conversely, not only are the Klitschko’s extremely capable boxers, the Ukrainian brother’s are also in superb shape.

Tomasz Adamek is a competent fighter who could easily overwhelm the bulk of the current crop of heavyweights.

However, Adamek’s “Granite Chin” would be shattered by either Klitschko brother. Instead, it would be wise for Adamek to focus his efforts on securing a matchup with Haye.
