Sex sells and WWE knows this subject very well.  The year 1996 brings in an era of the modern Diva.  While there were women wrestling or women as managers, the new age Divas finally appeared.  But the roles of the Divas as sex symbols have changed drastically from that time.

Many Divas have posed nude either before or during there time in WWE.  Eight Divas have been on the cover of Playboy since 1999:

Sable, Chyna, Torrie Wilson, Christy Hemme, Candice Michelle, Ashley, Maria and Tiffany

These Divas that posed on the cover of Playboy would generally have a match at Wrestlemania with some form of Playboy style of match (i.e. pillow fights).  WWE knew how to promote themselves and the women they were represent....with sex.

Many....Many.......Many Divas and women of wrestling have done some form nudity...posing...etc. before or during there time in WWE.  The following is a list of some examples.

Maryse and Rebecca (ECW) posed in Playboy before coming to WWE.

Mickie James posed nude in a XXX magazine (Before she was in WWE).

Kimberly Page Elektra were in Playboy as well.

Gail Kim posed nude for an Asian magazine before coming to WWE.

Chasity (WCW and ECW) did hardcore porn. Major Gunns (WCW) did softcore porn.

Dawn Marie went topless in some movie in the 90s.  The name escapes me.

Amy Weber did softcore porn before coming to WWE.

Various Diva's have had nipple slips on TV.  They include but not limited to Nidia, Jacqueline, Sable, Miss Kitty and Jackie Gayda

Tommy Dreamer's wife and former ECW valet, Beulah McGillicutty posed in a XXX spread in the mid 90's.

And I'm sure there have and will be more to add to the list

This has only helped WWE in regards to sales.  WWE knew exactly what they were doing with the type of women they are looking for.  Strong sex appeal attracts men.  Sex sells, it is simple as that.  Of course this may have also offended quite a few people.  But times have changed and as we all know we are now in a PG format and the women off WWE are being left out to dry.  WWE has not really changed anything in the Divas division except for the idea of less eye candy.

If WWE is going to continue with having a Diva's division in a PG format, they need to make some changes.  The idea of the women simly as eye candy needs to stop.  The fueds need to change.  The feuds need to take more of a grown up role (not adult, i.e. XXX) but fueds that not only Jr High kids have.  WWE needs to get rid of the "Extreme Makeover" types of matches.  Above all, WWE needs to respect women both in WWE and the audience.  And finally, let them wrestle!  If WWE is going to have a PG Divas divison then let them expess there wrestling talents...not just looks

What do you guys think WWE should do with the Divas Division?
