My Predictions, For Extreme Rules 2010

Mr. TaylorApr 24, 2010

What's up Bleaches? ''Time is of the essence; so let's bleach it!''

This Sunday, on April 25th, WWE host one of their most brutal and violent pay-per-views of the year.Ā ThisĀ PPV, formerly known as ''One Night Stand," now goes by the name, "Extreme Rules."

This article lays outĀ my predictions on how the show will pan out. IĀ give my opinion on what the outcome of each match should be, in no particular order, and explain why I feel that way.

WWE Women's Championship match: Michelle McCool vs Beth Phoenix (Extreme Makeover match)

I don't know what the hell this match will be like. What's the "extreme makeover?" I honestly don't get why they didn't just make thisĀ an "I Quit" match, because we all know that Beth and Michelle could go the distance if booked for that type of match. I expect this match to be very short (maybe 5 to 6 minutes), but I expect to see Beth win here. No matter how stupidly the matchĀ goes, because Beth has been loyal for quite some time now and she deserves to get the strap back, she should be booked to win. Plus, it would only solidify her face turn even more.

Strap match: Shad Gaspard vs JTG

These two should have never been separated in the first place, but I guess WWE had no intentions of letting them win tag team gold, so splitting them up was all they could think about. I honestly don't care who wins, but I think that WWE would obviously push the bigger guy. When wrestling, talent isn't the main issue, so I can see Shad easily demolishing JTG and picking up a decisive victoryĀ while looking very strong in the end.

CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio: If Punk loses, his head gets shaved

I must say that the storytelling, wrestling, promos, and crowd reaction of this feud have kept me excited since day one. Punk has ascended to new heights with his ''Straight Edged Savior'' gimmick and he has become one of the best damn heels in pro wrestling today. However, I feel that this feud has been a bit one-sided since the start. Punk has been booked to look very weak against Rey in the ring and that really burns me up. Punk deserves to win no matter what and even though I doubt he will win cleanly, he still deserves to go over Rey with ease after all the jobbing he has done over the past few weeks.

Triple H vs Sheamus: Street Fight match

A lot of you might not agree with me, but I actually find this feud very entertaining. The promos have been nothing, but on point between both men. Each of them have had a chance to look dominant over the other since the feud started. I don't care how much of a legend Triple H is, if they want to make Sheamus look like a credible threat, they have to make the feud look balanced. Having Sheamus lose twice in a row would make him look very weak and would just kill any belief I ever had in him as being a permanent main-event player in the future.

World Heavyweight Championship match: Jack Swagger vs Randy Orton (Extreme Rules match)

First of all, I thinkĀ this feud has not been developed very well. I just feel that it wasĀ put together to further push Randy's face turn, while giving Jack a little rub off Randy to make him look like a strong and credible champion. Two matches,Ā a few attacks here and there, but no promo time directly between the two and that is my main problem with this feudĀ  (if you can call it that). I know that WWE is trying to push Orton as a face, but having him take the title away from Swagger so prematurely neitherĀ makesĀ sense norĀ does Jack any favors, either. So I would expect to see Swagger winning his title no matter what, even if there is interference.

Edge vs Chris Jericho: Steel Cage match

Now this is a feud that has been well put together. There has been a lot of mic time between both men and they have put on nothing but stellar matches between each other. I honestly think that WWE should have let this feud still be based on the World Title though. Just like Wrestlemania and Smackdown!, I expect to see nothing but the best between these two.Ā Edge has yet to win a match that has meaning to it, so I see Edge getting the win come this Sunday.

WWE Championship match: John Cena vs Batista (last man standing match)

I can honestly say that the only way Cena and Batista can have a good match is when there are rules and in this case, there aren't any rules. Their match at Wrestlemania was phenomenal, but I don't see them making it two in a row, that's just not something I think John and Batista can do. I do, however, expect to see ''SUPERMAN'' prevail once again and go over Batista because I don't see WWE taking the title off their top cash cow so quickly.

I don't think that this year's Extreme Rules will be better than previous ones, but with guys like Edge, Randy, Y2J and Punk in matches, it can certainly come close.

All comments are welcome.
