24/7 Mayweather-Mosley Episode 3

In this third episode we take a closer look at the profiles of the two men most responsible for shaping Floyd into the complete skilled, talented fighter that he is today. Also in Big Bear the action in Shane Mosley's camp heats up as they prepare for the May 1st super mega welterweight fight under the training guru Naazim Richardson.

The finale of 24/7 MAYWEATHER/MOSLEY debuts Friday, April 30 (8:30-9:00 p.m.), just one night before the super showdown.  All four episodes will have multiple replay dates on HBO, and the series will also be available on HBO On Demand.

   On Saturday, May 1 at 9:00 p.m. (ET)/6:00 p.m. (PT), HBO Pay-Per-View presents “Mayweather vs. Mosley,” live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

After the debut of 24/7 Mayweather/Mosley episode 3 will be HBO BOXING AFTER DARK:  CRISTOBAL ARREOLA VS. TOMASZ ADAMEK AND ALFREDO ANGULO VS. JOEL JULIO seen SATURDAY, APRIL 24 at 11:15 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT), from the Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, Cal., exclusively on HBO.

Arreola (28-1, 25 KOs) from Riverside, Cal. is probably the most exciting American hopeful to bring a heavyweight title back to the USA and being of Mexican American descent the first possible Mexican heavyweight champion. Chris Arreola weighed in at:  250.5 LBS.

Tomasz Adamek (40-1, 27 KOs) from Zywiec, Poland, is a former light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion who has been making a name for himself as a top heavyweight contender. Tomasz Adamek weighed in at:  217 LBS.

CRISTOBAL ARREOLA
“I’ll fight anybody, anywhere but it’s great to be fighting at home. It’s always good to fight in your backyard because you don’t have to travel anywhere, you can sleep in your own bed, eat home-cooked meals and you can go to your favorite restaurants.
“The disadvantages are that everybody and their brother are trying to hit me up for tickets. I have to tell them to (get lost).
“There’s never pressure on me. This is what I do. I fight for the fans and it’s my job to win and entertain them and that is what is going down on Saturday.
“I’m the big man in this fight and I’m going to bring it to him. I’m sure Adamek is going to stick-and-move, which is what he has done since he’s moved up from light heavyweight and cruiserweight. I’d be pleasantly shocked but happy if he tried to stand and fight and exchange with me.
“But he’s never faced a guy that hits like me. You can’t compare how he did against Jason Estrada with how he might do against me because Estrada can’t punch. He got away with things against Estrada that he definitely will not be able to get away with against me.
“No way is Adamek accustomed to fighting a true heavyweight like me. He’ll feel my power and get hit like he’s never been hit before.’’

TOMASZ ADAMEK
“I’m on a mission to do something no boxer has ever done. I want to be the first light heavyweight, cruiserweight and heavyweight world champion. So I’m fighting for myself and history.
“One of my main strengths is my ability to adapt so I have a lot of options. I am prepared for everything Arreola brings to the fight. You can say whatever beforehand, but it’s how you deal with what’s happening in the ring when it happens that counts and I will know what to do when it’s time to do it.
“I expect a tough fight, of course, and nothing else. All fights at this level are tough and one punch can change everything. I will fight smart and box. I am not going to just stand there in front of him, but I won run either.
“Actually, fighting at the heavier weights has been better for me because the guys are slower, I can see the punches better and they take longer to get there.
“I know what Arreola is about but I jumped at the offer to fight him. There was no hesitation. It makes no difference that this fight is in his backyard. The most important thing for me is to win and I am very confident.’’

In the evening’s opening bout, Alfredo Angulo (17-1, 14 KOs) of Coachella, Cal. by way of Mexico, squares off against Colombian-born Joel Julio (35-3, 31 KOs), now of Miami, in a high-powered ten-round junior middleweight bout.  Angulo weighed in  at 153 ¾ lbs. Julio weighed in at 153 ¼ lbs.

ANGULO:  “Of course I am ready.  I don’t like to predict my fights, but he had better expect that I am prepared to fight for 12 hard rounds.”

JULIO:  “I feel great!  I made the weight real well.  I am ready for tomorrow; ready to go.  I know this fight won’t last 12 rounds.  He won’t go 12 rounds.”
