We all know that there is one position in a team that is vital for the fielding teams aspects of winning the match and this is the wicket keeping position, a team needs a good wicketkeeper in order to save vital runs and extras so for this five for England we will be looking at Steven Davies a young up and coming wicketkeeper.

This position is seen as very important as historically teams with great wicketkeepers succeed, Adam Gilchrist was the wicketkeeper who was a vital part of the Australian test and one day teams with his great keeping and powerful batting as has MS Dhoni who captained India to the world twenty20 crown in South Africa last year.

This is were we focus on Steven Davies he is a young wicketkeeper batsman and is regarded highly at New Road, Steven first came on the England scene in 2004 he appeared in the under 19's world cup in Bangladesh and done well averaging 55 he then went into a slump in form and was relegated to the second 11's, but then made a return to form and made it into the England A team in 2007.

Who can he replace?

Well to say England have had somewhat of a problem with their Wicketkeepers is an amazing understatement, Since Alec Stewart's retirement England have had more wicketkeepers than hot dinners Prior, Mustard and Nixon to name a few have shown promise but just haven't been the full article and I feel that Davies could be that finished article a mixture of class batting and athletic wicket keeping.

Well the obvious choice to be replaced would be England's current keeper Tim Ambrose, I just feel that Ambrose has not been convincing for me with his batting as we said before with other keepers I feel Ambrose has to improve his batting in order to keep the gloves for England and if not Davies is ready and able to step up.

Another thing that Davies has got on his side is age on his side being only 22 he has to be at least an England wicket keeper in the making.
