La Liga Week 34: Saturday's Matches Short Previews
Barcelona vs Xerez
There is still only a point in it between Real Madrid and Barcelona in the title race so there’s still everything to play for. The good news for Barcelona is that Xerez are not likely to pose any threat to them, especially not at home.
In fact it wouldn’t be surprising if Barcelona rested a few players against Xerez, a team who have played awfully all season. Although Barcelona have not had the best of weeks, only managing to draw in their local derby with Espanyol on Saturday and loosing to Inter Milan in the Champions League semi final, this should be a nice, easy win and a bit of a "pick me up" for the club.
Zaragoza vs Real Madrid
Madrid are unbeaten in their last 12 meetings with Zaragoza and things don’t look all to likely to change this week. However, Zaragoza managed to hold Real Madrid to a draw in their last three meetings on their home turf. Despite this it doesn’t look particularly likely Zaragoza will pick up a favourable result and Real Madrid can’t afford to let them get one.
Valencia vs Deportivo La Coruna
Three of the last four matches between these two sides have resulted in draws. At home Valencia are unbeaten in their last nine matches, eight of those have been wins.
If Valencia’s home form holds, they should have no problems beating Deportivo. Valencia’s third spot has been put a little bit under threat due to a few slip ups on the road, so continuing their fantastic home form is essential to keeping that position.
