The first 3 rounds of the NFL Draft are over and done. Dolphin fans have a lot to look forward to on Saturday, with 7 picks as of now. Many think they will trade for more, so they could possibly have 8 or 9. Winning teams are built through the draft, and ALL rounds are important. Our new star Brandon Marshall wasn't selected until the 4th round. Our former defensive favorite, Zach Thomas, was selected in the 5th round.

Round 1: Jared Odrick. This pick looks even better as I type this. Randy Starks is our new Nose Tackle. Randy was one of our best DEs, and he is up for the challenge of NT until Ferguson returns, where I'll assume they will share after. Odrick and Langford will be our starting DEs. Randy has played NT a few times, and was pretty good. Now he will have time to adjust to it before the season starts. This is crazy enough to work wonders.

I liked the pick to begin with, but now that Randy will be our starting NT when the season starts, this pick is even sweeter. Odrick has a great attitude, great player, amazing motor and he is a beast. He weighs over 300 pounds-with only about 10-15% body fat. He will be knocking opposing players all around.

Round 2: Koa Misi. I love this pick as well. Sergio Kindle just had too many question marks, and may need surgery. Koa will be a starter for us from day one. Another guy with a great motor. The Dolphins got strong and explosive with their first 2 picks. He is also versatile, just like Odrick. He can play OLB and ILB. The Dolphins got a need here.

Round 3: John Jerry. Was not expecting this, but it is a solid pick. We needed help at the O-Line. Remember last year the random shuffling because of injuries late in the season? The guy is huge. Looks like he will share the start at guard. He's a Parcells guy for sure.

Dolphins have filled some needs. NT with Randy, while getting his replacement in Odrick. They bolstered the O-Line, and got their OLB. FS and TE are more needs. They obviously feel they have someone in the next few rounds they can get. This draft seems well planned. Also, rumors are they could be interested in signing Darren Sharper or Atogwe. Those are just rumors based on chatter, but I wouldn't be surprised. They have plenty of picks on day 3, and after coaching the Senior Bowl they must have some favorites.

Solid draft so far, the defense has gotten younger, and most likely better. Karlos Dansby basically swapped with Porter, so we got a better player with a better personality. JT is gone, but Koa will be there. Mike Nolan came aboard and is one of the best. Odrick at DE with Randy moving to NT could make our D-line crazy good. Dolphins fans should be excited.
