Breaking News! WWE Releases 6 Talents, Best Thing for Shelton is TNA!
As of now it is reported that the WWE has released 6 superstars Katie Lee Burchill, Mickie James, Slam Master J, Jimmy Wang Yang, and Shelton Benjamin. It is not known why they were released other than the lack of a third brand means they have more talent than fits their shows at the moment.
This is big news for the Divas division. Beth Phoenix, Mickie James, Natalya Neidhart, Melina, and Katie Lee were considered the only divas that could truly wrestle. With two of those divas gone the division is even more of a joke now than it was before.
The departures of Jimmy Wang Yang and "Slam Master Jay" are not considered a great surprise due to their recent in ring matches they were being used as enhancement talent.
Shelton Benjamin on the other hand is a shock. The best "pure" wrestler in the WWE has won the intercontinental belt three times, the tag team championships twice with Charlie Haas, and the U.S. title once. He is not one for his mic skills but his in-ring performance more than makes up for it.
A couple weeks ago Charlie Haas had practically begged his close friend not to resign with that WWE so that they could be successful in other promotions. Looks like he gets his wish, the most likely places the duo of pure wrestling will end up is in Ring of Honor or TNA.
TNA is the most likely location since Kurt Angle has talked about reforming Team Angle with Haas and Benjamin multiple times.
TNA has done things with former WWE wrestlers no one thought was possible, Matt Morgan is a former WWE wrestler who had horrible luck with the creative team and now he is the holder of the TNA Tag Team championships and has had many remarkable matches with TNA.
Another former WWE wrestler who has made it big in TNA is Eljah Burke or "The Pope" D'angelo Dinero. The creative team made him an jobber in his last run in ECW and was not considered a good wrestler. Now "The Pope" is a TNA Heavyweight Championship contender and has but on great performance with A.J. Styles, Desmond Wolfe, and he won the Eight Card Stud Tournament at the Against All Odds! PPV.
If TNA could bring back life to Matt Morgans and "The Pope" D'angelo Dinero's careers, imagine what it could do for Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas. If Team Angle is on TNA than that would be just one more reason to watch the new era of TNA, presuming Bischoff can keep up the good work like last Monday's episode.
