Jon Garland, San Diego Padres
Garland went seven innings, allowing one run. He improved to 1-2 with a 2.86 ERA.
Josh Willingham, Washington Nationals
Willingham went 2-for-4 with a run, two RBI, and a SB. He’s hitting .327.
Julio Borbon, Texas Rangers
This is not how the season was supposed to go for Borbon. He’s hitting just .133. He did manage to go 2-for-5 with two runs, an RBI, and two SBs last night though.
Mike Lowell, Boston Red Sox
Big Papi just isn’t hitting. Lowell filled in at DH and went 2-for-4 with a HR and two RBI. He, on the other hand, is hitting .375. You could see more of him if Papi’s struggles continue.
Rafael Furcal, Los Angeles Dodgers
Furcal is tearing it up like he did in 2008 before getting injured. He went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and his seventh SB. He’s hitting .356.
Scott Rolen, Cincinnati Reds
Rolen went 2-for-4 with two runs and a HR (fourth). He’s hitting .300.
Marlon Byrd, Chicago Cubs
Byrd continues to produce for the Cubbies. He went 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBI (11, 12, 13). He’s hitting .281 on the year.
Carlos Silva, Chicago Cubs
Silva continues to surprise. He gave up one run on two hits over six innings to improve to 2-0 with a 0.95 ERA.
Wade Davis, Tampa Bay Rays
Davis blanked the White Sox over six innings, giving up two hits with six Ks. He improved to 1-1 with a 2.65 ERA.
Francisco Liriano, Minnesota Twins
Liriano continued his resurgence, going eight scoreless innings and allowing six hits with six Ks. He’s 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA. Seventy of his 102 pitches went for strikes.
Skip Schumaker, St. Louis Cardinals
Schumaker went 2-for-4 with two runs, a HR, and three RBI. He’s hitting just .224.
Colby Rasmus, St. Louis Cardinals
Colby went 3-for-4 with three runs, two HRs (fourth, fifth), and three RBI to bring his average up to .273. He has 10 RBI on the young season.
Phil Hughes, New York Yankees
Hughes went seven innings, giving up one run on one hit with 10 Ks. He sits at 2-0 with a 2.19 ERA.
Ben Sheets, Oakland A’s
Sheets took the loss but continued his comeback bid, giving up two runs on four hits over six innings. He sports a 2.74 ERA.

Brian Fuentes returned from the DL only to give up two runs on two hits while recording just two outs. His ERA is also 10.80. Fernando Rodney was perfect while Fuentes was on the DL.
