Saturday's Game Against City Can't Come Quickly Enough For Arsenal
Thanks to having to attend my daughter's parent teacher meeting yesterday I had a day off and I have to say it felt good not to have to make my way to and from work on the train on a Wednesday for a change. I managed to wash the windows downstairs at home and wash the car as well in the afternoon before playing a game of indoor football last night. My old knees are playing up a bit at the moment so I spent most of the game in goal and we ran out comfortable winners in the end. It's back to the humdrum of work today but the journeys to and fro are a lot easier to take now as I have my Iphone to amuse me. I managed to copy and paste the link for my blog to Twitter yesterday on my phone and knowing I can do that will make things a little easier in future.
You might have guessed by now that there is very little going on in the world of Arsenal and that's why I'm running through my day yesterday. The game on Saturday is getting closer and it can't come soon enough for me at this stage as it almost feels like the off season. I can't wait to hear what the boss has to say in his pre-game press conference as well, although I'm not sure if it's on Thursday or Friday this week. We have heard so little from anyone at the club since the debacle that was last Sunday's defeat at Wigan that it will be good to hear what he has to say on it.
We did hear from Arshavin on the club site yesterday and he said that he hopes to return to the team for the Man City game on Saturday. There is also a possibility of Song returning too and both of those players should add something to the team along with RVP if we are lucky enough to see him start. Arshavin said it was great to see RVP back in the team but that his return came too late to help us win a trophy. He also said that we have had a bad time with injuries this season although he could not say if we would have been Champions if the injury situation had not been so bad.
Our under 18 team beat West Ham 1-0 last night with the goal coming from Afobe to move even further clear at the top of the league. Their next game is at home to the Spuds on Saturday morning in the league and hopefully they can get a little bit of revenge for the defeat that the senior team suffered last week. The ladies won 1-0 at Watford last night and they are now five points clear at the top of the league with six games left and a game in hand on the team directly below them. It looks like some trophies will be coming to the club this season, but unfortunately they're not the ones we wanted most of all.
Finally, for today I will be doing a swift run down of the fantasy football tomorrow as the season is almost over. A few weeks ago the Football Guy said that he was confident he would beat me this season after his slow start but I am fairly confident that he has too much work to do at this stage.
Here's Alex Song spilling the beans on his teammates.
See You Tomorrow.
