Arsenal's Tomas Rosicky Getting Undeserved Criticism

Aaron AndersonApr 20, 2010

After two disappointing losses in a row I have seen countless articles on who Arsenal should send away in the transfer period and who everyone is sick of and one player that has come up that just boggles my mind is Tomas Rosicky.

Having come back this year from an 18 month layoff it took Tomas a little time to get back into the groove but lately he has been a bright point in a lackluster looking team.  He has been by far the most creative looking player besides the few minutes Van Persie got on the pitch, which pretty much outdid everyone.

He's also used to playing as an attacking midfielder not a winger.  In the game against Hull he was finally put back where he belonged and looked great, working hard, making good decisions, and has a good final ball even though it took them a while to get a goal up (not Rosicky's fault).

You can always see him coming in from behind and making great tackles and winning the ball back but like any player (besides Messi) he does make a mistake here and there.

Many things I read have talked about his days at Borussia Dortmund where he would take control of games and now that's all behind him but I don't think it's even valid to compare the two because they are two different leagues and he's playing in a different position.

Despite his goal tally being at three in the league this year, he has really filled in gaps when Arsenal have had injuries and done brilliant at it.  If Rosicky isn't filling that gap, then we are putting in a player even more out of position such as Eboue or someone who has not been very good this year such as Carlos Vela.

Rosicky is a player Arsenal really can't afford to let go because of the experience and hard work he puts in when he comes in and plays.
