Why Arsene Wenger Should Go?

' in arsene we trust' sounds all well and good when the fans are right behind their manager. but why is that the case? why is the manager who has now not won anything for the fifth season running still even at the club?

wenger has had a young team for a while now, but thats only the case due to his irresponsibleness when it comes to selling players, if football was just making money then he would be the number one in the world.

We don't work for four or five years with young players, stand up for them, let them come through and, when they are ready to perform, sell them. That would be irresponsible. But I cannot stop them from talking in Spain."

only a couple of weeks ago wenger stated"We don't work for four or five years with young players, stand up for them, let them come through and, when they are ready to perform, sell them. That would be irresponsible. But I cannot stop them from talking in Spain."

i find that highly hypocritical of wenger, who has done the exat same with players like adebayor who came to the club as an unknown stayed for 3 and a half years and sold to champions league spots rivals man city. hleb who stayed for just under three years flamini who stayed for 4 years. all these players came in to arsenal as relative unknowns and while the appreciate the talent of wnger turning them into world class stars. i dont think selling them was the right option.

before the start of every season wenger has looked to sell key players selling henry, ljungberg, reyes and 4 others. and only getting eduardo, sagna and fabianski during the 2007-2008 season. selling both hleb and flamini who were the heart of arsenal the previous season among the free trasnfer of jens lehmann during 2008-2009. and then selling adebayor and toure this season.

what i also find wierd is the signing of players like silvestre who hasn't helped the club to advance in anyway while letting go the members of the invincibles because of their age while the frenchman was 31 at the time of the transfer.

and apart from the transfers, this season wenger has had a couple of shocking games in the epl which have managed to lose us the trophy. birmingham which he decided to keep walcott and nasri for the bench till the late stages of the game to save them for the thrilling barcelone encounter which we had no chance of winning anyway meaning we only managed a one goal lead which turned out not to be enough, and also the wigan game were even though there was hope of the premier league after chelsea slipped up, he opted to go with fabianski who was at fault for the second goal and keep robin van perise till the 90th minute even thought he was looking in stunning form at tottenham.

i also HATE his approach towards the domestic cup competitions especially the league cup which he always puts a young side in for instead of trying to win a trophy, any trophy even if it is just the carling cup to get the fans something to be happy about and to give the team a bit of spirit which the team probably lacks having not won anything for so long. instead approaching it with arrogance thinking arsenal are too good.

i really hope to see the back of wenger at the end of this season as i think he is only there for the history he has made and not for recent performances
