(Ndamukong) Suh Rhymes With Two...Million, That Is
Unbelievable and tear-jerking news coming out of Lincoln, Neb. today.
While the Husker faithful's Big Red are playing in their annual Spring Game, the really big news happened before the game even started.
I'm sure most of you have heard of a man named Ndamukong Suh, the hugely publicized and talented defensive tackle from Nebraska. The guy that sits atop many a draft board as the No. 1 player rolling into next weekend's NFL draft. An All-American that rolled in trophies left and right this past winter while leading Nebraska to a Holiday Bowl win over Arizona.
Now for the real story about Suh.
On April 17, 2010, prior to Nebraska's annual Spring Game, the legendary Ndamukong Suh announced his pledge of $2 million to his beloved University of Nebraska.
Yep, you heard that right.
A recent player from Nebraska gave his pledges, all two million of them, to the future success of the Nebraska football program.
All before he actually signs a contract in the NFL.
Legendary? Not even close. How about historic?
Do you know of a player who has ever given back to his school prior to becoming a stud in the NFL? Much less $2 million?
What an incredible young man.
Ndamukong Suh is not just a great football player, but a man that transcends the field of play.
This, as I'm sure, will be many thanks from a Husker fan over the years toward Ndamukong Suh.
But all I can say right now is, "Thank you, Mr. Suh."
