Today (1941): The “Bowl Cut” will never be the same
On this day in 1941, the one and only Pete Rose was born in Cincinnati, presumably with pristine bowl cut in tact.
Rose of course would go on to a celebrated professional baseball career in which he would rack up the most hits in Major League Baseball history… become a player-manager of his beloved Reds, proceed to bet on his own team’s games despite being the manager, receive a lifetime ban from the sport as punishment while denying that he ever bet on baseball, then admit that he bet on baseball when he was ready to release his tell-all book, get arrested and spend five months in prison for tax evasion related to money earned signing autographs and selling memorabilia, get inducted into the “Celebrity Wing” of the WWE Hall of Fame and all along continue to set up camp in Vegas casinos and outside Cooperstown during Hall of Fame inductions selling his autograph for every penny he can get.
