Fergies Boy's Stumble Over Their Own Shoe Laces...
After a disappointing week at the office, Sir Alex Ferguson need's to wonder how he got knocked out the Champions League and presented the Premier League to Chelsea.
The last four games have seen two losses, a victory that had a sour taste and a draw that left United's Boss dumb founded.
Amazing how the game can change, the talk of a double now sees United hoping to hold on to a top two finish.
I'm not saying they can't still win it, but when your results only matter on the results of others, you have to be very frustrated and disappointed.
Chelsea who beat Villa at the weekend to progress to the Final of the FA Cup will play Bolton on Tuesday will be positive they can get a victory at Stamford Bridge that will see them go four points ahead of United with four games to go.
While Arsenal will look to face a shocked Spurs team that got beaten 2-0 by relegated side Portsmouth at Wembley yesterday. If Arsenal can put European wounds aside and beat Spurs who will be at home, the Gunners will go a point ahead of United and could end up in second place if not first.
But as United's title challenge slips away, a fourth consecutive title looks bleak...
Ferguson will hope for another twist in the race, but with City on Saturday, United's task seems to be a tough one. Arsenal have the easiest path and will hope Chelsea slip up and open the door for a remarkable league title.
Looking at the last four games, United's loss of concentration saw them concede two goals against Bayern with the second worst than the first. In the second leg, 3-0 up saw another defencive error yielding in a Bayern goal that gave the away team hope which saw them score a second that took them trough on the away goal rule.
Against Chelsea, United looked flat and tired up against a fit glowing Chelsea team. With some luck Chelsea were handed a goal that was clearly offside, but United could only blame themselves as they started the game very negatively.
Blackburn on Sunday, United without Star Striker Wayne Rooney lacked the killer touch, and a frustrated Berbatov and poor performance from Macheda saw United drop two points.
Four games, lost five points and now the challenge looks like they will have to just hold off Arsenal for second spot, or will Chelsea break as well twisting this seasons race even more...
