Tim Tebow...The Best Prospect In The Draft?
Ā Obviously, no one agrees with the headline of this article. Mainly because the media has down played Tebow's ability and hyped up the top prospects in this draft. His throwing motion is a bit awkward, and he played in a spread offense...what other argument is there against him? First, he's a proven winner. He makes plays during the game that can't be measured at the combine orĀ a pro day. Brett Farve also had an awkward throwing motion when he came into the league, but his desire to win made him one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.
Ā Does anyone remeber the jump pass in the championship game against OU? The one to win the game? This guy was amazing in college! Not because he was a product of his system, but because athletically he is a complete freak, he is arguably the most competitive player in collegeĀ football, he performs well in big games and doesn't make a lot of mistakes. The SEC is a tough division to play in as a quarterback too. While success in college doesn't always equate success in the NFL, that can go for any player. Mike Vick isn't a great pure passer either, but had great success prior to his off the field issues. Vick was taken 1st overall in the 2001 NFL Draft. Vick never won a Heisman or a National Championship. Tebow broke the record for touchdowns in a season as a sophmore, and he doesn't have any off field issues. He can beat you with his arm or his feet. He's 6'3" 240 pounds. Gritty, competitive, loves the game of football, a winner, a leader and he's proven he can be taught to do things a team wants him to do.

Ā I've seen Tebow on the sideline, covered in blood, cheering his defense on. Running up and down the sideline, screaming and yelling. Then get back on the field and when the pass wasn't there, tuck the ball and take on a linebacker head on to get a first down. Above all else, he is an Alpha male. A natural leader and aĀ dominant personality. Any great quarterback in the NFL has to be. You got 53 millionaires on a team who are all very gifted, something has to seperate the leader of a franchise from the rest of the pack. Any great, pro bowl caliber quarterback is the face of his franchise. The leader. A leader has to be respected, even revered. Tim Tebow has all of the tools to become the greatest quarterback the NFL has ever seen. His work ethic will allow him to play in and succeed in, any system in the NFL. Look how far he came at his Pro Day from the Senior Bowl with his delivery. I really do not understand how this guy is not a lock for the first pick in this years draft. Oh his delivery, that's right. Forget about the success he's had in huge games, his ability and desireĀ to do whatever is necessary to win a football game. Every player in the draft this year has the potential to bust. From what I've seen, Tebow is the least likely to bust. Bradford gets injured to easily, I don't care if he looked good at his pro day. That shoulder is going to be a problem for him. He's not tough enough to withstandĀ the beating he's going to receive in the NFL. Clausen, I think will be a good quarterback on the right team. But Tebow, this guy could go to a bottom of the barrel team that doesnt have a great offensive line, and is tough enough physically and mentally to overcome the adversity any rookie quarterback will face in that situation.
Ā You heard it here, maybe not first. But Tebow, if given the chance, will be the best quarterback in this class. The Rams won't take a chance on him. But the Jags might with the tenth overall selection. If they do, they won't be disappointed. Neither will any other team who drafts him. He deserves to be the first overall selection but won't be. He has been the greatest player in college football for the last three years and isn't even a first round lock. It's ridiculous. His last game in college football he was 31 for 35, 482 yards passing, 3 touchdowns -Ā 0 interceptions and ran the ball 14 times for 51 yards and a score. He accounted for 145 touchdowns in four years at Florida. 88 passing, 57 rushing. He completed over 60 percent of his passes every year of his college career. 64.4 % being the lowest on 298 attempts and 67.8 being the highest on 314 attempts. He threw for 32 touchdowns his sophmore year and 30 touchdowns his junior year. He only threw 16 interceptions in 995 attempts and never once fumbled his entire college career.Ā Go ahead St. Louis, draft Bradford. While Tebows winning Super Bowls and league MVP's in a few years, you'll still be looking for a franchise quarterback, trying to crawl out of the cellar.
