Randy Orton- Where Does WWE Go With Him Now? (As Of April 2010)
Things have never been more interesting for Randy Orton when it comes to his current situation in the WWE. And one of the reasons is that we are definitely at a point where his current character and path are truly unknown. Let us look at the situation:
- Randy Orton is a tweener/face at the moment and it seems to be going well. For sure, it is better than the previous face run. Right now, The Viper has two solid wins over the current World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger. The audience is loving him, chanting RKO and his pops on the current European tour have been mentioned to be just as powerful (and in some cases, stronger) than even John Cena.

- The feud with Legacy seems (strongly seems) to be over. Ted DiBiase has moved on to a new storyline featuring the million dollar championship and rumors are saying he will be building a new heel stable with other "fortunate sons". Cody Rhodes is currently out selling the punt show from Orton at Wrestlemania. When he returns, it will most likely be as a singles wrestler and perhaps on Smackdown instead of RAW.
- Randy isn't in the WWE Championship scene at the moment because John Cena is champion and he is currently feuding with Batista. A last man standing match is scheduled for those two for the Extreme Rules PPV.
So, we have a bit of an issue here. We have two episodes of Monday Night Raw left before Extreme Rules. I doubt very much the WWE would leave Orton off the card completely, but what exactly will they do with him? The Monday Night Raw following Extreme Rules will be the annual three hour draft. I can almost guarantee (along with the rest of the internet) that Orton is being traded to Smackdown. His feud with Swagger, possible matches with opponents he hasn't faced in years or never faced at all is strong. And on top of that, he has done pretty much everything he can on Monday Night Raw.
If he does indeed get traded over to the Friday night program following Extreme Rules, we will see just what direction WWE is heading with him then. But for the time being, where do they go with him? Do they leave him off the Extreme Rules PPV completely? That would be a huge error in my opinion. Or do they put him in some type of short feud just for the time being? Monday Night Raw will be taped in England this week (week of April 12) and so we should have our answers soon enough. But, I come on here to ask for the opinions of those who read The Bleacher Report.
What do you guys think? Does Randy Orton continue to flourish on RAW but with no real feud or will he be left off the next PPV and then traded the following night in order to spark up interest in some new feuds?
