Sacramento Kings Rookie Tyreke Evans Chasing History
Last year the Kings were in the NBA Draft lottery. The Kings and their fans were excited at the possibility of landing the first overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. The Kings had the best chances of landing the first pick but ended up with the 4th overall pick. Some were disappointed but the Kings ending up at #4 ended up as a blessing in disguise. Chris Webber represented the Kings at the NBA Draft Lottery and may have been their lucky charm considering he wore #4 in his playing days.
Had the Kings landed the first overall pick they likely would have selected consensus #1 pick Blake Griffith. Nobody would have questioned that pick considering Blake's college resume and NBA potential. Things didn't go exactly as planned for Blake as he hasn't played a single minute in the regular season.

New NBA Mock Draft 📝
With that 4th overall pick the Kings drafted G Tyreke Evans from Memphis. He has been everything the Kings hoped for and a lot more. This 20 year old has quickly become one of the best players in the league. He is on pace to average over 20 ppg, 5 rpg, and 5 apg. The only other players to put up those numbers as a rookie are Oscar Robinson, LeBron James, and Michael Jordan. That's right. He'd be only the fourth player in NBA History to average 20, 5, and 5 as a rookie.
For the few of you that don't think averaging 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists as a rookie is that tough to accomplish, consider this. There are only three players in the NBA averaging over 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists this year. One is, you guessed it, Tyreke Evans. The other two are known as the two best basketball players of this generation, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.
Tyreke Evans is chasing history folks. A few more games and he'll put himself in a class along with three of the greatest players in NBA history. The sky is the limit for this kid and with the right supporting cast he can get the Kings back to being the Western Conference powerhouse they once were.
