Jose Reyes is Back, Tejada Sent Down
Jose Reyes returned to the Mets lineup today but was not a factor in the offense today as he went 1-for-4 with a single. According to Andy Martino of the Daily News, in order to make room for Reyes on the 25-man roster the Mets sent infielder Ruben Tejada to Triple-A Buffalo.
Despite the fact that Reyes did not factor much into todayโs game, he played pretty well defensively and certainly gave the Mets an energy that has been lacking for some time now.
Reyes did give us a reminded of what heโs capable on the base paths. In the 9th inning Reyes lead off with a single and it obviously took away some attention from the Nationals pitcher Matt Capps. When Reyes moved into scoring position on an Alex Cora groundball it electrified the crowd as the they hoped that David Wright could give the Mets new life.

Unfortunately the Mets left the bases loaded, but Reyes was trying to provide a distraction even to the very last minute as he bluffed stealing home trying to draw a balk from Capps.
The Mets might have dropped the game 4-3 in the end, but today was still a big day for the Mets. Jose Reyes is back and from the look of things he is finally healthy.
