Yesterday, the Mets played the Nationals on a cold windy night at Citi field.Although

the offense exploded by scoring 8 runs, partially because of the multiple homeruns hit

by Barajas and Francouer. But to me that wasn't the most impressive thing about the

game. The most impressive thing was that Mike Pelfrey looked cool confident and calm

and that he delivered a solid outing.

Pelfrey pitched six innings, allowing only 2 runs on Ian Dessmin's 2 run triple in

the second inning. If he can keep pitching like this this season the Mets will surely be

contenders for the Wild Card and maybe the Nl East. The bullpen was also very good,

Hisanori Takahashi was solid, aswell as Mejia. The offense delivered by hitting four

homers at Citi Field!!.Francouer had 2, aswell as Barajas.Francouer is already becoming

the hitter he was a couple of seasons ago in Atlanta.

The Mets to me now look really good for the Wild Card.Atlanta has not been playing

well,Wagner blew the lead for Hudson in the 9th and Chipper is already hurt 2 days into

the season. The Mets should also look foward to the fact that Reyes will be returning

to the Mets lineup today and provide an offensive boost to this team.If this team can

stay healthy and continue to pitch well this team will have an absolute shot at the
