John Wooden, Geno Auriemma, No Comparison
I would like to preface this article by saying I have nothing against women's sports and women's college basketball in particular. I think we will all agree women's basketball is completely different from men's just from the stand point that men are inherently more athletic and men's college and professional basketball is played above the rim.
I find that although women are not as physical or as athletic they do play fundamentally well, but if there was a boys junior high basketball game and professional women's basketball game going on at the same time, I would watch the boys game. If you ever watch the highlights of a women's basketball game they consist of a well placed pass, wow or a driving made layup and even some missed layups make the highlights, and I have never seen a women posterize another women, not to say it hasn't happened, I'm just saying I have never seen it.

John Wooden, legendary coach of UCLA the wizard of westwood won 88 games in a row and for some reason the media keeps mentioning Geno Auriemma and UCONN and there 78 game winning streak in the same context. There is no way you can compare what Geno Auriemma and UCONN has done even if they win more than 88 in a row with John Wooden and what he acomplished, I think Geno Auriemma would be the first to agree. I think what UCONN has done is remarkable, but it's only remarkable for women's basketball so please don't for a second confuse what UCONN has done or are going to do with men's basketball of any kind especially John Wooden's UCLA teams.
I am not trying to start anything with the women who play basketball or any other sport for that matter, but I hope you agree with this article because there really is no argument. I do not understand one thing, why is a man coaching women any way, no matter what the reason I think that is strange. Why doesn't Geno Auriemma coach men, if he is such a great coach why wouldn't that translate to the men's game, I think that answers the question of why you shouldn't mention Geno Auriemma's name with John Wooden's name.
