Personal Touches For Professional Looking Party Balloon Decorations.
Regardless if it is a just because or for a special occasion or a holiday, a party balloon arrangement can be just the thing to make people smile and realize all the effort you put into making it. It does not matter if you have a small quiet gathering or if you are throwing the largest Independence Day celebration on the block. Your party can be a successful one with professional looking decorations at half the cost.
The first thing you need to do is plan the party, determine how many guests you are planning on having, what type of party it will be and whether you want have a theme for the party. Often this will help you to determine your budget and whether you can eliminate some things. This also helps you to streamline your party and determine what you will be able to do or make yourself and what you may need someone else to make for you.
Each arrangement should consist of at least four high quality pearlescent latex balloons 11 inches in size, the colors can be anything you feel is appropriate for your party and do not forget the 5mm complementing ribbons. Cut clear cellophane into 50x50 centimeter squares and two strips of white tulle into 5x25 centimeter sections. You will also need some find grade dehydrated sand and a 1.5cm diameter ring made out of metal or plastic.
Also you will need to make a 8 centimeter cardboard disc wrapped in tin foil and a self made funnel (this can be created from a washed and dried plastic soda pop bottle). You could also get some decorative metallic confetti, tulle or some paper doilies, however this is completely optional as its simply for additional decorations and your budget may not include it.
First you will want to stretch one of the balloons so inflate it half way by blowing into it and then deflate it and stretch the neck over the neck of the partial soda bottle. Fill the balloon with the sand until it is approximately the size of a billiards ball. Remove the funnel and slip the metal ring over the balloon neck and tie it in a knot.
Place the cellophane on a flat surface, place your cardboard disc in the center and place your filled balloon on it. You will need to cut small slits into your tulle to slip over the ring, they should form an x. To make the base fancier, cut small v-shapes into the tulle and then gather up the cellophane and wind approximately 60 centimeters of ribbon around it underneath the ring. You may decorate with more ribbons if you so choose and curl them. The tulle, paper doilies and confetti may be placed on the table beneath this base as added effect.
You will need to fill the balloons with helium, for this you may just be lucky enough to find a place that will fill the balloons for you. While this is not usually the case you may wish to purchase a disposable helium tank, these are usually around fifty dollars. There may be coupons that you can get or discounts that will lessen the price for you. This may be a very practical solution if you are planning on making multiple arrangements, if you want to make it yourself, or if you have other parties where this would come in handy for as well.
You may arrange the balloons any way you like, however one of the most common ways to arrange them is to place them in tiers. This is where the second balloon is touching the bottom of the first one and the third one is touching the bottom of the second one and so on. You may tie ribbons onto the inflated balloons and curl them much like you did for the base, although make sure to make sure there is enough length for this. This can be an affordable way for you to decorate if you require more than one party balloon centerpiece.
