Arsene Wenger's Final Throw of the Dice a Double Striker Deal for Arsenal?
Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has finally been reported as going after a double striker sweep this summer. As Arsenal has long expressed their interest in the Bordeaux striker Maroune Chamakh, the new target for Wenger is Wigan Athletic forward Hugo Rodallega.
Arsenal played through this entire season with one major problem: injuries. The main man up front, Robin Van Persie, was injured long ago and has still not been able to make his return.
Eduardo came back from injury, but not in his old, original form which the fans used to watch him for. He was shaky and lost confidence toward the goal. Again, he met with injury.

Carlos Vela, the youngster, was introduced by Wenger in several matches, but he failed to make a good impact and thus Wenger is now left with only Bendtner at the front role.
While Bendtner is surely a good promising player, you simply cannot deny the fact that it is really too tough for a team to ride their silverware dreams on the basis of a striker like Bendtner.
Last night's 4-1 upset by Barcelona perhaps further strengthened the fact that with this ammunition it will be difficult to achieve any silverware for the Gunners in this season or the next.
Captain Fabregas, who acted in the role of a playmaker plus a scorer at times, is out for the season and his absence reverberates throughout the team.
Wenger has tried everything, from bringing in newer midfield players like Walcott to adding promising talented backs like Vermaelen. Still, the results are left unsatisfied at the moment.
Here, I feel that a team needs a good forward the most, and especially when Arsenal's options up front are injured, you need some new shoes who know how to score.
The Marouane Chamakh story has finally been confirmed. According to the Daily Mail it has been reported that the Bordeaux man has, in fact, signed a four-year deal worth £12m in wages.
The 26-year-old has made 53 appearances for Morocco at the international level and could provide the squad with some much needed depth and skill up front.
He was the pioneer of Bordeaux, winning the French league, and scored nine goals in 27 appearances this season.
The second deal is targeted at the Wigan Athletic striker Rodallega, who has netted nine goals in 31 games for the struggling side this season.
He is 24, has impressed at the Wigan Club, and no doubt has the potential to do great things in the Premier League. While he has physical attributes much more suited for the EPL and he has good skills that can render great contribution to any club.
It is reported that the Arsenal coach is prepared to pay up to £10 million to secure Rodallega when the transfer window opens. As negotiations between the clubs are already under way, all of this still remains under speculation.
But the question is, will this option of the dual deal be enough for Wenger to get the silverware for Arsenal?
Though Chamakh and Rodallega are both good players in their respective talents, will they be able to add strength to the Gunners?
With in-house striking options like Bendtner, Vela, Walcott, and the return of RVP, the Arsenal team will have their much-needed striking options back. With the addition of these two players it will be like adding a fire to the arrows, but will it be worth it?
Presently, the Arsenal manager has about £40m to spend this summer and he will hopefully go for a goalkeeper to replace the scapegoat Almunia.
Arsenal is reported to target the Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and will then be in a bidding war with all-time rivals Manchester United.
Perhaps this will be Wenger's last throw of the dice to beat the opponents and win the EPL.
What do you feel?
EPL has seen many good and bad choices this year, the notable ones being Aston Villa's Richard Dunne (a super hit transfer) or Liverpool's Aquilani (the super flop patient).
So, will this be a good decision or another bad experiment?
